Coal, mica, steel and pilgrims: the four threads of Giridih's economy
Giridih's economy has been shaped by what lies under its soil. Coal has been mined in the Giridih coalfield for well over a century, with Central Coalfields operating mines around Beniadih. Mica from the Gawan and Tisri blocks gave the district an international trade long before most small towns had one. More recently, sponge iron plants and rolling mills around Mohanpur and nearby villages have added a steel cluster that supplies construction markets across eastern India.
The fourth thread is faith. Parasnath hill, known to the Jain community as Shikharji, rises to the south-west of the town and draws pilgrims from across the country and abroad. Madhuban, at the foot of the hill, is full of dharamshalas, bhojanalayas and shops, and many visitors pass through Giridih town or its stations on the way.
Around these sit the ordinary businesses of a district headquarters: wholesalers and retailers around Kalibari, Tower Chowk and Station Road, hospitals and clinics, schools and coaching centres, transporters, hardware and building material dealers. Our work is to help each of them be found by the buyers, patients, students or pilgrims already searching for them, with a site that fits their size and budget.
The town also has a literary and scientific past that visitors still ask about. Jagadish Chandra Bose spent his final years here, Satyajit Ray spent part of his childhood in Giridih, and Rabindranath Tagore wrote while staying in the town. Hotels, guides and even restaurants can mention these connections accurately on their pages, which gives travellers a reason to stay a day longer instead of passing straight through.
How much a website costs in Giridih
Website quotes in Giridih vary widely. Some local freelancers offer a template page for very little, while agencies from bigger cities quote amounts that small firms struggle to justify. The cheap option often skips search setup and keeps the domain in the builder's name; the costly one may include overheads you don't need.
Our starting prices are listed on the pricing page. A static website of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and takes one to two weeks. A 299+ page SEO website, where each product, service or area gets its own page, starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks. AI and WhatsApp automation starts at ₹40,000, an online store at ₹50,000 and a custom web application at ₹60,000. Monthly SEO starts at ₹10,000 a month.
Those figures are floors. A dharamshala with ten rooms needs far less work than a rolling mill listing every TMT size, grade and bundle weight. The written quote lists every page and feature, so you can see where the cost comes from and take out anything you don't need before approving.
- From ₹10,000: up to 100 pages, mobile layout, enquiry form, map and basic SEO. For shops, clinics, tutors and dharamshalas.
- From ₹20,000: 299+ pages for product ranges and service areas. For steel, mica and trading firms.
- From ₹50,000: online store with cart, UPI and cards. For retail, craft and food product sellers.
- From ₹60,000: custom software with logins and reports. For mills, transporters and institutions.
Sponge iron plants, rolling mills and steel traders
Giridih's steel units produce sponge iron, billets, TMT bars and structural sections that go to dealers, builders and contractors across Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and beyond. Much of this is sold through distributors and long-standing relationships, and many units have either no website or one built years ago that lists a phone number and little else.
Buyers of steel now check online before they commit. A contractor in Patna compares TMT brands; a dealer in Siliguri looks for a new supplier; a project engineer wants to see test certificates and grades. A site with a page for each product, listing sizes, grades, standards you are certified to, bundle weights, packing and dispatch details, plus a dealer enquiry form, helps a Giridih mill compete with larger brands for those buyers.
We write only what you can support. We do not add certifications you do not hold, capacity figures you cannot confirm or claims about quality that a buyer cannot check. For many units, the most persuasive content is simple: real photographs of the plant and stockyard, the testing process, the dispatch bay and the people. We can also build internal tools for weighbridge entries, dispatch challans, stock and dealer ledgers, starting from ₹60,000, shaped around the registers your staff already use.
Mica processors, exporters and mineral traders
Mica from the Giridih and Koderma belt has been exported for generations, and the district's processors and traders still sell to buyers in other countries as well as to Indian manufacturers of electrical, cosmetic and industrial products. For export-facing firms, a website is often the first thing a foreign buyer checks after receiving a quotation.
A mica or mineral trading site should explain what you process, the forms and grades you supply (such as blocks, splittings, flakes or powder), particle sizes, packing, the ports you ship through and the documentation you can provide. It should load quickly from abroad, have a clean English version and make it easy to request samples or a quotation. We add a separate page for each product form so buyers searching for a specific grade can find it directly.
The mica trade has faced serious scrutiny over labour practices and sourcing. We encourage firms to describe their sourcing and compliance honestly and to publish only certifications and audits they actually hold. Buyers in regulated markets look for exactly this, and vague or exaggerated statements do more harm than good.
Dharamshalas, hotels and services for Shikharji pilgrims
Parasnath hill, known as Shikharji, is among the holiest sites in Jainism, and pilgrims arrive throughout the year, with larger numbers in the cooler months and during important festivals. Madhuban at the foot of the hill has many dharamshalas, bhojanalayas and shops, and hotels in Giridih town and around the stations also host visitors travelling to the hill or to Usri Falls and Khandoli Dam.
Pilgrims plan carefully, often as family or community groups, and many search online in Hindi, Gujarati or English for accommodation, food, transport to the hill and doli services. A dharamshala or hotel with its own website can show real photographs of rooms, what facilities are offered, food rules, check-in times, distance from the start of the trek, and a booking request on WhatsApp. This helps groups plan and reduces the number of phone calls you handle.
We write these pages respectfully and practically. We describe your facilities accurately, add clear directions from Parasnath station and Giridih, and avoid decorative text that does not help the pilgrim decide. For transport and taxi operators, route pages covering Giridih, Madhuban, Parasnath, Deoghar and Dhanbad can catch the searches of people planning their journey.
Hospitals, clinics, schools and coaching centres
Giridih's hospitals and clinics serve patients from all thirteen blocks of the district, including towns like Jamua, Dhanwar, Bengabad, Dumri and Bagodar, where specialist care is limited. Families often travel a long way and want to confirm doctor availability and test facilities before they set out.
For healthcare, we build doctor pages with qualifications and OPD days, service and test lists, timings, emergency numbers, directions from the bus stand and station, and appointment requests that reach reception on WhatsApp. For schools and coaching centres, including those preparing students for JSSC, banking, railway, NEET and JEE exams, we build admissions, course, batch and fee pages with a visit or demo booking form. Giridih College and other institutions also bring students from across the district who need hostels, libraries and study spaces.
All of this is written in Hindi first where it helps, with English alongside. We keep claims factual: no invented toppers, no guaranteed selections, and no medical promises. In a district town, people talk, and a website that tells the truth builds a better reputation than one that overstates.
Local SEO for Giridih: map listings, Hindi and Khortha-speaking customers
When people nearby search for a business, Google shows a few map results first and websites below. Your position on the map depends on your Google Business Profile, your reviews, how complete your details are and how close the searcher is. Many Giridih businesses have not claimed their listing, or have one with an old number or the wrong category, which makes early improvements relatively easy.
We help you claim or correct the profile, choose accurate categories, upload real photographs, set hours and ask customers for honest reviews. On your website, we create pages for each service and for the areas you really serve: Kalibari, Tower Chowk, Makatpur, Pachamba, Station Road, Court Road and Bhandaridih in town, and places like Sirsia, Madhuban, Jamua, Dumri and Bagodar outside it. Our SEO service takes care of both.
Most local customers search in Hindi or Hinglish, even if they speak Khortha at home, with queries like “Giridih me achha hospital” or “sariya ka rate Giridih”. Steel and mica buyers from outside Jharkhand search in English. Pilgrims may search in Hindi, Gujarati or English. We write pages that make sense to each of these groups instead of repeating keywords. Monthly SEO starts from ₹10,000, and we don't promise first positions.
- Google Business Profile claimed, categorised and kept accurate
- Hindi and Hinglish pages for local and district searches
- English product pages for steel and mica buyers
- Consistent details on Justdial, IndiaMART and trade portals
- A short monthly report in plain language
WhatsApp automation for mills, dealers, hotels and clinics
In Giridih, orders and enquiries mostly come through WhatsApp and phone calls. A steel dealer asks for today's rate on three sizes of TMT, a pilgrim group wants to know whether rooms are free next month, a patient's family asks when the doctor sits, and a coaching centre fields fee questions every evening. Much of this is repetitive, and the important messages get buried.
We build automation that replies to routine questions in Hindi or English, shares rate lists, room availability or timings, records every enquiry in a Google Sheet with the date, source and requirement, and passes anything that needs a decision to you. For mills and traders, rate requests can produce a draft quotation for you to check. For dharamshalas and hotels, booking requests can be collected with dates, number of guests and contact details.
Projects start from ₹40,000. Another of us, who handles our AI and AWS work, designs them so that rates, discounts, refunds and complaints stay under your control. If your message volume is small, we will tell you and suggest a simpler setup.
Transporters, contractors and suppliers in the coal and construction trade
Mining, steel and construction in and around Giridih support many transporters, earth-moving and equipment hire firms, fabrication workshops, spare parts and hardware dealers, and building material suppliers. Most of this work is won through contacts, but new clients increasingly look a firm up before hiring it.
A capability website for such firms lists services, the fleet or machinery you operate, the kinds of projects you have worked on (without naming clients who haven't agreed), registrations, safety practices and a named contact. Real photographs of your vehicles, yard and work sites carry more weight than stock images or long descriptions.
For busy operators, we can also build tools for trip logs, diesel records, driver attendance, job cards and billing summaries, all usable on a phone. These start from ₹60,000 and are built around the records you already keep, so that supervisors and drivers find them easier than the registers they replace.
Working with us from Giridih
We do not have an office in Giridih, and we will not invent one. We are three engineers working remotely for clients across India. Without rent or a sales team to pay for, our prices stay low, and you always talk directly to the people doing the work.
We start with a call or WhatsApp conversation about your business, then send a page plan, a timeline and an itemised quote in writing. After approval, you receive a private preview link within days to check on your own phone and share with partners or family. Changes are requested on WhatsApp, and small ones are usually done the same day. We reply seven days a week, in IST.
One of us builds the websites and applications. Another of us handles AI, machine learning, AWS and data. The third of us manages projects and works on automation and data science. You can reach us here or read about our web development approach first.
Your domain, your hosting, your code
It is common in smaller towns for a business to discover that its website's domain is registered to the person who built it, who can no longer be reached. The site cannot be renewed, changed or moved, and eventually disappears along with whatever search visibility it had built up.
We prevent that by registering the domain and hosting in your name, on your account, from the first day. At launch, you receive every login, the full source code and a short written guide to how everything is set up. You can move to another developer at any time with no exit fee.
For two months after launch, maintenance is free: updates to text and prices, fixes, security patches, backups and uptime and speed checks. After that, it continues from ₹8,000 a month if you want us to keep looking after it, or you can call us only when you need something done.
Before you pay anyone for a website
Make sure the domain will be registered in your name. Ask for hosting access at launch. Look at two or three sites the developer has built, on your own phone and on mobile data. Ask who fixes problems later and what it costs, and get that answer in writing.
Be careful of promises of first position on Google within weeks or cheap bundles of backlinks. Nobody controls rankings, and low-quality links can cause harm. Check that the quote includes page titles, meta descriptions, a sitemap and Search Console setup, which are often quietly left out.
And note how quickly and clearly they reply before you pay. It is the best guide to how support will work afterwards.
