An old capital that now trades cotton, castor and isabgol
For roughly seven centuries Patan, then called Anhilwad Patan, was the capital of Gujarat under the Chavda and Chaulukya dynasties. That history is visible everywhere: the walled city with its twelve gates, the carved havelis in the pols, the Jain temples and the great stepwell that made the town famous. But the modern economy runs mostly on farming and on the processing of what the district grows.
Patan district's fields produce cotton, castor, wheat, mustard, fennel, isabgol and pulses, along with vegetables and fruit. Much of this passes through traders and processors before it reaches Unjha, Mehsana, Ahmedabad or export buyers. Oil mills, ginning and cotton units, food processing plants and paper and pulp units make up the district's industry, much of it in GIDC estates at Patan, Chanasma, Harij, Sami, Radhanpur and Sidhpur.
Patan town adds a strong layer of services. Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, the Government Engineering College and the GMERS medical college at Dharpur bring students and patients from across North Gujarat. Tourists arrive for Rani ki Vav. Shops, clinics, classes and hotels compete for all of these people, and almost every one of them now searches on a phone first.
What Patan businesses actually pay for a website
We would rather you know our prices before you call. Our pricing page lists starting figures, and once we understand your business we send an itemised quote, so you can see exactly what each page, feature and language adds to the total.
A static site of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and usually goes live in one to two weeks, with a mobile layout, WhatsApp and call buttons, a map, a contact form and basic search setup. An SEO website of 299 pages or more, mapped to what people in North Gujarat actually search, starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks. AI and WhatsApp automation begins at ₹40,000, an online store at ₹50,000 and custom software at ₹60,000. Ongoing SEO starts from ₹10,000 a month.
Scope decides the rest. A tuition class may need eight pages in Gujarati. A castor trader wants grade pages, a quote form and English for outside buyers. A Patola workshop selling pieces worth lakhs needs a store with custom-order steps, insured shipping and serious attention to photographs. Work starts only when you have approved the quote in writing.
- From ₹10,000: a clean site for a shop, clinic, class or small trader.
- From ₹20,000: a large search-focused site for steady enquiries.
- From ₹50,000: a textile or product store with UPI and cards.
- From ₹60,000: trading, stock or order software built for your routine.
Patola and Mashru: selling Patan's rarest textiles with the care they deserve
Patan Patola is double ikat: both the warp and the weft threads are tie-dyed before weaving so that the pattern appears the same on both sides. A single saree can take four to six months, and the craft survives in only a few Salvi families. Prices run from tens of thousands of rupees to several lakhs, and small scarves or dupattas are the usual entry point for buyers. Mashru, the silk-and-cotton fabric also woven in Patan, reaches a wider and less expensive market.
Buyers at this level worry about authenticity. They want to know who wove the piece, whether it is true double ikat or a printed imitation, how long a custom order will take and how the item will be shipped and insured. A website that answers these questions plainly, with close-up photographs of the actual weave, the weaver's name where the family agrees, and clear order steps, earns trust that social media posts rarely do.
For Patola, we often suggest an enquiry-led store: pieces are shown with full details, but high-value orders go to a WhatsApp conversation and an advance payment rather than a simple cart. Mashru, dupattas and smaller items can use a normal UPI and card checkout. Every page mentions only the GI or handloom marks the seller is entitled to use. Stores start from ₹50,000, and a catalogue site from ₹10,000 is a lighter beginning.
Cotton, castor, isabgol and oil mills: websites for the agro trade
Much of Patan's business is not visible from the street. It happens in yards, godowns and small factories where cotton is ginned, castor and mustard are crushed, isabgol is cleaned and fennel is graded before moving to bigger markets. Buyers are often in Unjha, Ahmedabad, Mumbai or abroad, and they judge a supplier partly by how professional it looks online.
A good trade website keeps prices off the page and puts everything else on it: products and grades, moisture and purity specifications where relevant, packing sizes, storage capacity, licences and certifications you hold, dispatch arrangements and a named contact. A short English quote form and a Gujarati WhatsApp button cover both the export buyer and the local broker.
Inside the business, purchases from dozens of farmers and brokers in a single season make record-keeping hard. We build web tools that log each lot with seller, weight, grade and rate, track stock and dispatch, and show the owner a daily summary on his phone. Custom software starts at ₹60,000, and we begin with purchase and stock before adding billing or broker ledgers.
Industrial units in GIDC estates, whether food processing, paper and pulp or cotton-based, have a different audience: purchase managers and procurement portals. For them we build a company profile with capability pages, machinery lists, quality processes and downloadable documents, written in clear English with Gujarati where the local workforce or suppliers need it.
Guides, hotels and eateries for Rani ki Vav visitors
Rani ki Vav, the eleventh-century stepwell on the edge of town, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014 and appears on the back of the ₹100 note. Visitors usually combine it with the Sahasralinga Tank, the Panchasara Parshvanath temple and other Jain temples of the old city, a Patola weaving house and the Regional Science Centre. Many arrive on a day trip from Ahmedabad, and a smaller number stay overnight.
Most visitors plan on a phone the night before. They want to know timings, how long the visit takes, whether a guide is available, where to eat and whether it is worth staying. Guides, hotels, restaurants and cab operators who have a simple website with real photographs, clear timings, languages spoken and a WhatsApp booking button get these travellers before they arrive.
We write these pages in English, Gujarati and Hindi, and we keep history accurate rather than dramatic. For guides, a page per tour, with duration, walking distance, meeting point and what is included, works better than a single long description. We never add invented reviews or photographs of places you do not operate.
University town: colleges, classes and hostels
Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University is based in Patan, and students also come to the Government Engineering College, the GMERS medical college at Dharpur and a range of arts, science, commerce, nursing and B.Ed colleges. Around them are coaching classes for GPSC, police and bank exams, NEET and JEE, and board exams, as well as hostels and PG rooms.
Students compare options on their phones, often late at night. A class website with batch timings, subjects, faculty, fees you are comfortable sharing, a demo-class request form and a WhatsApp number that replies wins attention that a pamphlet at the bus stand cannot. Hostels and PGs benefit from room photographs, rules, food details and distance from the university and colleges.
We publish only results you can document, and we never create fake toppers or testimonials. A notice board you can update from your phone, with admission dates and holiday lists, reduces the calls your office receives in June and July.
Colleges with several streams often struggle with one crowded homepage. We split the site into clear sections for each faculty, admission process and document list, and add a downloads area for syllabi, forms and circulars, so a student from Harij or Sami can find what she needs without calling the office twice.
Hospitals, clinics and labs serving patients from across the district
With the medical college at Dharpur and a number of private hospitals and nursing homes, Patan draws patients from Chanasma, Harij, Sami, Radhanpur, Santalpur and smaller villages. Families often travel long distances, so they want certainty before leaving home: which doctor is available, on what days, and what the visit involves.
A health website here should list doctors with qualifications and OPD days, departments and tests, preparation notes, accepted insurance and government schemes, emergency numbers and directions from the bus station and railway station. Appointment requests reach your front desk on WhatsApp with the patient's details already filled in, so nothing is written on loose paper.
We write in simple Gujarati and English, keep medical claims restrained and accurate, and ask the doctor to approve every page. We never promise results or rank your hospital against others.
Diagnostic labs and pharmacies near Dharpur and in town can go a step further: a test menu with sample-collection timings, home-collection areas across Patan and nearby villages, and a way to receive reports on WhatsApp. Families travelling from Santalpur or Radhanpur appreciate knowing in advance whether a test needs fasting, how long the report takes and whether they must return in person to collect it.
Shops around Bagwada Darwaja, the municipal market and Station Road
Patan's older trade runs through the lanes of the walled city and around gates such as Bagwada Darwaja, where the municipal market sits, while newer showrooms line the roads towards the railway station and the highways. Textile and saree shops, jewellers, sweet shops, hardware and electrical dealers, furniture and appliance showrooms all serve both town customers and families coming in from the villages.
A catalogue site with categories, brands, price ranges you are happy to share, home delivery areas and opening hours answers the questions customers ask before making the trip. Wholesalers can add a dealer page and WhatsApp catalogue for retailers in Chanasma, Harij and Sidhpur.
Navratri, Diwali and the wedding season bring a flood of repeat questions. A festive catalogue page and fast WhatsApp replies let one or two staff members handle what would otherwise need a full counter team.
Sweet and namkeen shops deserve a special mention, since boxes from Patan often travel to relatives in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and abroad. A page listing items, box sizes, shelf life and the cities you can courier to turns festival phone calls into orders you can plan for, and a simple order form stops confusion when the same customer asks for five different boxes on one call.
Local search in Patan, in Gujarati and English
Local search on Google has two parts. The map results come from your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how near you are to the searcher. The results below the map come from websites. In Patan, many businesses still have no profile, share one with a namesake in Patan in Nepal or Maharashtra, or have the pin in the wrong lane of the old city, which makes the map part especially easy to improve.
We create or repair your profile with the right categories, real photographs, hours and service area, and show you how to ask genuine customers for reviews within Google's rules. We keep your name, address and phone the same on Justdial, IndiaMART and other directories. On your site we build pages for each service and, where relevant, for areas such as Bagwada Darwaja, Station Road or the university area, and for nearby towns like Sidhpur, Chanasma and Harij. Our SEO service covers both parts.
Patan customers mostly search in Gujarati typed in English letters, like “Patan ma saru hospital” or “Patola saree ni kimat”, while tourists and export buyers search in English. Always adding “Gujarat” matters here, since several places share the name Patan. Monthly SEO starts from ₹10,000, and we will not promise a number-one position.
- Google Business Profile setup, pin correction and review guidance
- Gujarati pages for local customers
- English pages for tourists and outside buyers
- Consistent listings on Justdial and IndiaMART
- Monthly report in plain language
WhatsApp automation for Patan traders, classes and clinics
In Patan, WhatsApp is where business happens. A castor trader receives rate enquiries from brokers all day. A coaching class answers “fee ketli chhe?” dozens of times each admission season. A Patola workshop receives photographs of sarees from people asking whether they are genuine. The questions repeat, and the time spent on them grows every year.
We build automation that saves every enquiry in one place, replies instantly to routine questions about stock, fees, timings or tour availability in Gujarati, Hindi or English, and forwards anything unusual to the right person with the whole conversation attached. Confirmations, reminders and dispatch updates go automatically to customers who have opted in.
AI agents can study your catalogue, course list or product sheet and answer detailed questions, or draft replies for staff to approve. Automation projects start from ₹40,000. We look at how you work before automating anything, and keep money matters, complaints and medical questions with people.
Working with a remote team from Patan
We have no office in Patan and do not claim one. We are three engineers who work remotely with businesses across India. With no rent or sales staff to fund, our starting prices stay well below a typical Ahmedabad agency, and you speak directly with the people writing your site.
After a first call or WhatsApp chat, we send a page plan, timeline and itemised quote within about two working days. Once you approve, we build and share a private preview link you can check on your own phone and show your family or partners. We reply seven days a week on Indian time, and small changes are generally made the same day.
One of us leads full-stack development. Another of us works on AI, machine learning, AWS and data. The third of us manages projects and handles data science and automation. You can contact any of us directly.
Ownership and maintenance, settled before we start
We have seen Patan businesses lose their websites because the domain sat in a developer's account and nobody renewed it. When that happens, the address, the search rankings and every link shared on WhatsApp disappear together.
With us, the domain and hosting are registered in your name from the first day. At launch you receive all logins, the full source code and a short guide. You may change developers whenever you wish, and there is no exit charge.
For two months after launch we maintain the site free: content and price updates, bug fixes, security patches, backups and uptime checks. After that, maintenance continues from ₹8,000 a month, or you can contact us only when you need something. Our web development page lists what every build includes.
