What drives business in Purnia today
Purnia is the commercial centre of the Kosi–Seemanchal belt. It is the divisional headquarters for Purnia, Katihar, Araria and Kishanganj, and traders from all four districts, and from Nepal across the border, come here to buy, sell and get treated. The city grew along the Saura river, and its older markets such as Bhatta Bazar and Madhubani still carry much of the retail trade.
Two crops define the local economy more than anything else. Maize from the Seemanchal fields flows into the Gulabbagh mandi, which Purnia people often describe as the largest maize market in Asia, and is shipped onward to Bengal, Nepal and the North-East. Makhana, the fox nut harvested from ponds and wetlands, has turned Purnia into what many call the makhana capital of India.
Around these sit a growing service sector and a busy automobile trade. Line Bazar has become a medical district for north-east Bihar. Purnea University, set up as Bihar's ninth university, and several colleges keep a steady student population in town. Purnia Airport, with flights to Delhi, Kolkata and other cities, has made business visits far easier than the long road and rail journeys of earlier years.
For a web developer, this mix means very different clients with very different customers. A makhana exporter needs to convince a buyer in Mumbai or Dubai; a Line Bazar clinic needs to reach a family in Araria at night; a coaching centre needs parents in Banmankhi to trust it. We plan each site around who is searching and what they need to see first.
Makhana from Purnia: from pond and phodi to buyers in metros and abroad
In September 2025 the Prime Minister launched the National Makhana Board in Purnia, and the geographical indication for Mithila makhana is registered in the name of a Purnia producers' body. Shipments of GI-tagged makhana from Purnia have already gone to Dubai by sea. For local processors, this means more attention from buyers who will check you online before they ever call.
Most units still sell popped makhana in bulk to traders who grade, pack and brand it elsewhere, keeping most of the margin. A trade website is a first step towards selling directly. We build pages that set out grades by seed size, moisture and colour, packing formats, monthly capacity, FSSAI and GST details, and a form for sample and quotation requests.
For units ready to sell to consumers, we add a UPI store with roasted, salted and flavoured packs, weight-based courier charges and order alerts on WhatsApp. Honest labelling matters: we list ingredients and shelf life, and leave out health promises you cannot prove with a report.
Buyers who have never visited Bihar want evidence that you are a real processor. Short, clear videos of the harvesting, roasting and popping stages, photographs of your grading tables and a named contact person do more than any slogan. We send a simple phone-shooting checklist so you can collect these during the season.
- Grade, packing and capacity pages for wholesale buyers
- Sample and bulk quotation form linked to WhatsApp
- Retail store with UPI, cards and weight-based shipping
- FSSAI, GST and GI details shown where buyers look
Gulabbagh maize traders and commission agents
Gulabbagh and Khuskibagh are where Purnia's grain business happens. During the season, trucks leave for feed mills, starch plants and poultry farms in other states, and deals are settled on the phone between people who have traded with each other for years. The trouble begins when a new buyer from Siliguri or Guwahati wants to check a supplier they have never met.
A modest website with your firm's name, GST number, commodities handled, quality parameters such as moisture and foreign matter, loading points, the states you supply and a named contact gives that buyer something solid to verify. It also stops rivals with similar names from picking up your enquiries on Google.
Traders handling hundreds of lots a month usually outgrow notebooks and spreadsheets. We build browser-based registers for purchase entries with weight, moisture and rate, godown stock, truck dispatches, commission and pending payments. These start at ₹60,000, open on a phone at the mandi, and produce a clean season-end statement.
Rate messages are another pain point. Many commission agents send the day's prices to dozens of buyers one by one. A simple broadcast workflow, with opt-in lists and a daily rate sheet, saves an hour every morning without spamming anyone.
How much a website costs in Purnia
Prices for websites in Purnia vary widely. A cyber café may offer a site for very little, often on a free template with the domain in the developer's name, while agencies in Patna or Kolkata quote figures meant for larger companies. Before comparing numbers, ask who will own the domain, whether Google setup is included and what happens after launch.
Our starting prices are on the pricing page. A static site of up to 100 pages for a shop, clinic, tutor or trader starts at ₹10,000 and is ready in one to two weeks. A 299+ page SEO site for hospitals, schools or firms with many services starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks. Online stores start at ₹50,000, AI and WhatsApp automation at ₹40,000, and custom web software at ₹60,000.
Every quote is itemised, so you can remove what you do not need. The figures below are where projects begin, not a ceiling; extra languages, product counts or integrations add to them, and you see each addition in writing before you agree.
- From ₹10,000: static site up to 100 pages with mobile layout, map, enquiry form and basic SEO.
- From ₹20,000: 299+ page site for departments, doctors, courses or product ranges.
- From ₹50,000: online store with UPI, cards, shipping rules and order notifications.
- From ₹10,000 a month: ongoing SEO with a plain-language monthly report.
Line Bazar hospitals, nursing homes and diagnostic labs
Line Bazar is Purnia's medical district. Government Medical College and Hospital and Sadar Hospital are here, surrounded by private nursing homes, specialist clinics, pathology labs, imaging centres and pharmacies. Patients come from across north-east Bihar and from Nepal and West Bengal, often travelling for hours after searching for a doctor on a phone.
For these families, the most useful website shows which doctor sits on which day, OPD timings, fees if you choose to publish them, emergency numbers, and clear directions from Purnia Junction, the bus stand and the Kasba and Katihar roads. We add an appointment request form that reaches your reception on WhatsApp, and test lists with preparation instructions for labs.
Because Line Bazar is so crowded, getting your Google listing right is often worth more than any page design. Correct category, exact pin location, accurate hours and real photographs of the entrance help a patient find the right door in a lane full of similar signboards.
Medical content has to be accurate and restrained. We publish only qualifications and services your doctors confirm, avoid cure claims, and never use patient images or testimonials without written consent.
Local search in Purnia: Hindi, Maithili, Bangla and Hinglish searches
Purnia is linguistically mixed. Hindi is the main language, and Urdu, Maithili and Bengali are widely spoken, along with Surjapuri in the villages towards Kishanganj. Online, people mostly type in Hindi or Hinglish: “Purnia me bacchon ka doctor”, “Gulabbagh makka rate aaj”, “Bhatta Bazar saree shop” or “Line Bazar MRI centre”.
Your Google Business Profile carries most of the weight in these searches. We set it up or clean it up with the right category, service areas, opening hours, photographs and a routine for asking satisfied customers for honest reviews. We also correct your name, address and phone number on Justdial, IndiaMART and other directories, where outdated entries are common.
On the site itself, each service, department or product gets its own page, written in the language your customers use. Where Bengali-speaking or Nepali customers matter, we add pages for them too. Monthly SEO work starts at ₹10,000. We do not promise a first-place ranking to anyone; we explain what changed each month in plain Hindi or English.
- Google Business Profile category, service areas and photographs
- Separate pages for each doctor, course, product or branch
- Hindi and Hinglish copy, with Bengali where needed
- Consistent details on Justdial, IndiaMART and maps apps
Coaching institutes, schools and Purnea University colleges
Purnia is a study town for the whole Seemanchal region. Students come from Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar and Madhepura to attend Purnea College, Purnea Mahila College, the engineering college and the many coaching institutes preparing candidates for BPSC, SSC, banking, railway, NEET and JEE.
Parents and students compare institutes on their phones long before visiting. A clear site with courses, batch timings, fees, faculty details, hostel or PG tie-ups for outstation students, and results you can actually verify helps a family decide. We add a demo-class booking button on WhatsApp and a simple admission enquiry form.
Schools get admission pages, fee structures, transport routes, notices and galleries that office staff can update without calling a developer. For institutes running many batches, an attendance and fee tracker in the browser starts at ₹60,000 and removes a lot of register work.
We never publish invented toppers or success percentages. In a city where families talk to each other, a truthful page protects your reputation.
Shops in Bhatta Bazar and Madhubani, and the automobile trade
Bhatta Bazar, Madhubani and the surrounding market lanes hold much of Purnia's cloth, saree, jewellery, electronics, mobile and grocery trade, and wedding-season shoppers come in from surrounding districts. The automobile sector has grown quickly too, with showrooms, service centres, spare-parts dealers and used-vehicle traders along the highways.
For most shops, the first step is simple: a correct Google Maps listing and a small website showing what you stock, brands carried, timings, photographs and a WhatsApp button. Shoppers travelling in from Banmankhi or Kasba check before setting out, and choose the shop that answers their question on the screen.
Showrooms and dealers benefit from model pages, test-drive or service booking forms and finance enquiry buttons. Used-vehicle traders can list stock with photographs and prices, updated from a phone. Where a catalogue with UPI checkout makes sense, we build one; where it does not, we say so and keep the site small.
AI and WhatsApp automation for Purnia firms
Most Purnia businesses already run on WhatsApp. The makhana exporter answers the same grade and price questions every day, the Line Bazar lab repeats test preparation instructions, and the coaching centre explains batch timings to one parent after another. Important enquiries get buried under routine ones.
We automate the repetitive part. Each enquiry is logged with name, number, need and date in a Google Sheet. Routine questions get instant answers in Hindi or English, drawn from information you approve. Bulk buyers, new patients and admission leads are flagged for a call back, and complaints or payment issues always go to a person.
For makhana and grain businesses, an AI assistant can also summarise the day's enquiries by grade, quantity and region, so you can see which markets are asking for what. Projects start at ₹40,000. We begin by reading a week of your real messages, and if WhatsApp Business quick replies are enough for your volume, we tell you that instead.
Reaching customers across Seemanchal, Nepal and Bengal
Purnia's customer base does not stop at the district line. Wholesale buyers come from Araria, Forbesganj and Kishanganj, patients from Nepal through Jogbani, and grain goes towards Siliguri and the North-East. A website that treats all of them the same misses the point.
We build service-area pages that say plainly which districts, towns and states you deliver to or serve, how long delivery takes, and what documents you provide. For clinics, a page for travelling patients with nearby lodging, accessible routes and admission procedures is useful. For traders, a page explaining minimum orders, freight arrangements and payment terms saves many repeated calls.
The airport has changed things for professionals too. Doctors, consultants and suppliers who fly in from Kolkata or Delhi can now visit regularly, and a clear visiting-schedule page helps patients and clients plan around them.
A remote team with no Purnia office, and how we work
We do not have an office in Purnia and will not pretend to. BtechWaleTech is three engineers working remotely for clients across India. You deal directly with the people writing your code, which keeps decisions quick and prices lower.
One of us builds the full-stack side: sites, stores and web apps. Another of us handles AI, machine learning, AWS and data work. The third of us runs project management and builds automation and data science tools. You can reach us through the contact page, and we reply on WhatsApp seven days a week during Indian working hours.
After a first call, you receive a page plan, timeline and itemised quote in about two working days. Once you approve, a preview link follows within one or two weeks for you to check on your own phone. Technical details are on our web development page.
Your domain, your code, and support after launch
A common story in Purnia: a business paid someone for a website, the domain was booked under that person's email, and when he stopped answering, the owner could not even update a phone number. Some lost years of Google reviews tied to the old address.
With us, the domain and hosting are registered in your name from the start. At handover you receive every login, the full source code and a short written note explaining how things are set up. You can move to any developer whenever you like, and there is no exit charge.
Maintenance is free for two months after launch, covering content and price updates, bug fixes, security patches, backups and uptime checks. After that you can continue from ₹8,000 a month, or simply message us when a change is needed and pay for that work alone.
