An old trading town with a surprising business history
Amalner is a taluka town on the Bori river in western Jalgaon district, with a population of just under a lakh at the last census. It serves a wide rural hinterland: farmers bring cotton, soybean and groundnut to its market yard, families come in for schools, colleges and hospitals, and pilgrims arrive for Sant Sakharam Maharaj's samadhi and the Mangal Graha temple.
The town also has an unusual place in Indian business history. Wipro began in Amalner in 1945 as a maker of vanaspati from sunflower seeds, long before it became a software team. Many local families held shares in the company for decades. It is a useful reminder that serious businesses can grow from a small Khandesh town, provided they reach customers beyond it.
Today, reaching those customers means being findable online. A textile buyer in Surat, a seed company's area manager in Jalgaon, a parent in Dhule comparing colleges or a devotee planning a trip from Pune will search before they call. Most Amalner businesses show up, if at all, as a thin directory entry with an old phone number.
That is the opening. Online competition in Amalner is light. A clear, fast website with honest information, a correct Google map listing and a few well-written pages in Marathi and English can make a small firm look more organised than competitors who have been around for thirty years but never updated anything.
Website prices in Amalner, and how to compare quotes
Website quotes in and around Amalner vary widely. You may be offered a template site by a computer class owner, a package from a Jalgaon agency, or a subscription from a national directory. Comparing only the headline number is misleading. Ask what you actually receive: how many pages, whether basic SEO is done, whose name the domain is in, how fast the site loads on mobile data and who fixes it later.
Our starting prices are on the pricing page. A static website with up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and usually takes one to two weeks. That suits shops, clinics, coaching classes, small manufacturers and traders. A 299+ page SEO website, with separate pages for each service, crop, product or nearby village you serve, starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks.
Beyond that, WhatsApp and AI automation starts at ₹40,000, an online store at ₹50,000, and a custom web application such as a purchase register or dealer portal at ₹60,000. Monthly SEO starts at ₹10,000. Every quote is itemised and written, so you can see what each piece costs and drop anything you do not need before approving.
- From ₹10,000: up to 100 pages, Marathi and English, enquiry form, map and search basics.
- From ₹20,000: 299+ pages built around what people search, including village and taluka pages.
- From ₹40,000: WhatsApp and AI automation for enquiries, orders and reminders.
- From ₹50,000: online store with UPI, cards and delivery options.
- From ₹60,000: custom tools with logins for traders, institutions and units.
Cotton, soybean and the Amalner market yard
Farming drives Amalner's economy. Cotton is the traditional cash crop of Khandesh, and the Tapi basin also grows soybean, groundnut, jowar and pulses. The Amalner APMC market yard is where much of this produce changes hands, and around it work commission agents, traders, ginning and pressing units, transporters, agri-input dealers and seed and fertiliser shops.
These businesses mostly run on long relationships, and that will not change. But the buyers at the other end, spinning mills in Gujarat, oil mills, exporters and large traders, increasingly check suppliers online before committing to volume. A trader or ginning unit with a proper website showing capacity, the varieties handled, bale specifications, quality checks, GST details and a named contact looks far more reliable than a mobile number passed through a broker.
Agri-input dealers have a different need: farmers asking about a pesticide, seed variety or drip component. A simple Marathi site listing the brands you stock, your shop timings and a WhatsApp button, combined with a correct map listing, brings in farmers from surrounding villages who would otherwise ask at the nearest counter.
For larger traders and ginning units, we also build internal tools to replace paper: daily purchase registers, lot-wise stock, weighbridge entries, dispatch records and pending payments, all visible on a phone. These start from ₹60,000 and are built around your existing way of working.
Small units on the Dhule road and the MIDC area
Amalner has a small industrial area on the Dhule road near Mangrul, where food processing, plastics, paper and oil units have operated alongside smaller workshops. Around them, and along the main roads, are fabricators, electrical contractors, motor rewinding shops, tractor and pump dealers, packaging suppliers and transport operators.
For these firms, a website is mostly about credibility. A food processor trying to supply a distributor in Nashik, or a fabricator bidding for work at a plant in Jalgaon, will be looked up. The buyer wants to see the products or services, the machinery, certifications such as FSSAI or ISO where you have them, photos of your unit and completed work, and a person to contact.
We build capability websites that answer those questions clearly, with product or service pages, a gallery, downloadable brochures and an enquiry form that accepts drawings or specifications. For food brands we can add a small online store for direct orders from households. For manufacturers selling to dealers, a password-protected price list saves your staff from sending the same PDF twenty times a week.
Colleges, schools and coaching classes in an education town
Education has shaped Amalner for a long time. Pratap College is one of the oldest colleges in Jalgaon district, and the Pratap Tatwadnyan Mandir, once known as the Indian Institute of Philosophy, gave the town a reputation for serious study. Sane Guruji, the freedom fighter, teacher and author, is closely associated with Amalner. Today, the town also has many schools, junior colleges, ITIs and private coaching classes for board exams, NEET, JEE, MPSC and police recruitment.
Students and parents from Parola, Chopda, Dharangaon and surrounding villages compare these options online before visiting. A school or class that publishes clear information, courses, batches, timings, fees or fee ranges, faculty, facilities, hostel or transport details and verifiable results, earns enquiries that others lose.
We build education websites in Marathi and English with admission enquiry forms that go directly to your office WhatsApp, a notice board your staff can update, downloadable prospectuses and a gallery of real classrooms. We do not invent results or rankings. Parents in a small town talk to each other, and honesty on the website protects your reputation.
Temple visitors, yatra season and the businesses that serve them
Amalner is a pilgrimage town as well as a market town. Sant Sakharam Maharaj's samadhi temple near the Bori riverbed hosts a yatra and rath procession in the month of Vaishakh that has been held for about two centuries and draws very large crowds. The Mangal Graha temple, dedicated to the planet Mars, attracts devotees from across Maharashtra and beyond, particularly on Tuesdays.
Visitors plan these trips on their phones. They search for how to reach Amalner by train or bus, where to stay, where to eat, puja timings, parking and nearby places. Lodges, dharamshalas, restaurants, puja material shops, taxi and auto operators, and sweet shops all benefit when they answer those questions on their own site and map listing.
We build simple visitor-focused pages: rooms and rates, photos, distance from the temple and station, food served, and a WhatsApp booking button. For yatra season, we help you update timings and availability quickly. Pages are written in Marathi, Hindi and English, because devotees come from all three language groups.
Hospitals, clinics, labs and pharmacies
As a taluka centre, Amalner has hospitals, nursing homes, maternity clinics, dental and eye clinics, diagnostic labs and pharmacies that serve villages for a considerable distance around. Patients who once went straight to Jalgaon or Dhule for a specialist now look for one nearer home first, and they look online.
A good clinic website answers practical questions: which doctors practise there and their qualifications, consultation days and timings, services and tests available, whether appointments are needed, whether government schemes or insurance are accepted where you choose to share that, and how to find you from the bus stand or station.
We build clinic sites with doctor profiles, service pages, appointment requests on WhatsApp and clear Marathi and English directions. For labs we add test lists, home collection areas and report download. All medical text is checked by your doctors before it goes live. We never write claims about cure rates or success figures that you have not verified.
Being found in Amalner searches, in Marathi, Hindi and English
When someone searches for a business nearby, Google shows a map with three listings, then ordinary results. The map depends on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and distance. The results depend on your website. In Amalner, many profiles are missing, carry the wrong category or show a number that no longer works, so correcting basics can produce quick gains.
Search language here is mixed. Local customers type in Marathi, in Hindi or in Roman-script Marathi, with queries like “Amalner madhye best hospital”, “Amalner kapus bhav” or “Amalner jawal lodge”. Outside buyers and visitors search in English. We write for all of them, so a farmer in a nearby village and a buyer in Surat can both reach you.
Our work covers profile setup and category selection, real photos and hours, review guidance, consistent name, address and phone details on Justdial, IndiaMART and other directories, and separate website pages for each service and area you serve, such as Station Road, the market yard area, Parola or Chopda. See our SEO service. Monthly SEO starts from ₹10,000, and we send a short report in plain language.
- Google Business Profile setup and correction
- Marathi, Hindi and English pages for local and outside searches
- Area pages for Amalner neighbourhoods and nearby towns
- Consistent listings on Justdial, IndiaMART and directories
- A monthly report you can read in five minutes
WhatsApp automation for traders, classes and clinics
In Amalner, business happens on WhatsApp. A cotton trader gets rate enquiries during the busiest hours at the market yard, a coaching class office answers the same fee question every evening, and a clinic receives appointment requests at midnight. Messages are lost, follow-ups forgotten, and no one knows which enquiries turned into business.
We set up automation that handles the repetitive layer. Each enquiry from WhatsApp or your website is recorded in a Google Sheet with the date, name, need and source. Routine questions about rates, fees, timings, stock or directions are answered at once in Marathi or English. Anything unusual, such as a bulk order, complaint or medical query, is handed to a person on your team with the full chat.
Automation starts from ₹40,000 and generally takes two to four weeks. We observe your current routine before suggesting anything, and we automate only steps that are truly repetitive and low-risk. Payments, negotiations and anything sensitive stay with you. If your enquiry volume is too small to justify automation, we will tell you plainly.
How a remote team works with Amalner clients
We have no office in Amalner, and we will not pretend otherwise with a borrowed address. We are three engineers working remotely for clients in many towns. Without rent or a sales team, our costs stay low and you speak directly to the people who build your site.
Work happens over phone calls, WhatsApp and screen sharing. We start by understanding your business and customers, then send a written page plan, timeline and itemised quote. Within a week or two you receive a private link to review on your own phone. Changes go through WhatsApp, and small ones are usually done the same day. We reply seven days a week, in Indian time.
One of us builds websites and web applications. Another of us works on AI, machine learning, AWS and data. The third of us manages projects and builds automation and data science work. You can contact any of us, and see our approach on the web development page.
Ownership, handover and what happens after launch
We register your domain and hosting in your name from the start. At launch you get every login, the complete code and a short written note explaining how the site is put together. If you ever want someone else to manage it, you can hand everything over without our involvement and without an exit fee.
This matters because losing a website is common in smaller towns. A developer registers the domain under his own account, moves away or stops answering, and the business loses its site and email when renewal comes due. We have seen shops rebuild from nothing because of this.
For two months after launch, maintenance is free: text and price updates, small fixes, security patches, backups, uptime monitoring and speed checks. After that, maintenance continues from ₹8,000 a month, or you can message us only when you need something changed and pay for that job alone.
Five questions to ask before hiring any web developer
First, whose name will the domain be in? It should be yours. Second, can you see three recent sites the developer built, and do they open quickly on your phone using mobile data? Third, are page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and Search Console included, or will you pay separately for them later?
Fourth, what happens when something breaks after the free period, and what will that cost? Fifth, can you update prices, photos and notices yourself? And one warning: be wary of anyone who guarantees the top spot on Google within weeks. Nobody controls Google's results. Such promises usually come with spammy links that do long-term damage.
Also notice how clearly and quickly the developer replies before you pay. It is a fair preview of the service you will get afterwards.
