Why a Kochi website has two audiences
Kochi has always faced outward. Its port handled pepper and cardamom long before it handled containers, and today the same city ships frozen seafood, repairs vessels at Cochin Shipyard, refines crude at Ambalamugal and runs software delivery centres at Kakkanad. A large share of local businesses have at least one customer who is far away: a buyer in the Gulf, a tourist planning a trip from Europe, or a Malayali family living in another state.
At the same time, most everyday business in Kochi is local. People search for a dentist in Kadavanthra, a bakery in Kaloor or a car service centre near Vyttila, often in Malayalam or in Malayalam typed with English letters. They want an address, timings, a phone number and something reassuring before they call.
A good Kochi website has to satisfy both groups without confusing either. That usually means clean English pages that load quickly from outside India, local pages with Malayalam where it helps, and a contact route that suits each: email and forms for overseas buyers, WhatsApp and a call button for people nearby. Getting that balance right matters more than colours or animation.
Website prices in Kochi, set out plainly
Business owners in Ernakulam have told us about quotes ranging from ₹4,000 to over ₹75,000 for a site of similar size. At the bottom end you often get a theme with placeholder text changed, hosting held by the developer and no search setup at all. At the top end you pay for account managers, office rent and a sales process rather than for anything visible on the site.
We keep our starting prices public. A static website of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and takes one to two weeks. A 299+ page SEO site, with individual pages for services and the Kochi areas you cover, starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks. Stores with UPI and card checkout begin at ₹50,000, automation at ₹40,000 and custom applications at ₹60,000. Ongoing SEO is from ₹10,000 a month if you want it.
The biggest factor in any quote is content: how many products or rooms, whether you need Malayalam and English, and whether photographs are ready. We list every page and function in the quote, and you are not billed for anything until you approve it in writing.
- Static site, from ₹10,000: up to 100 pages, WhatsApp and call buttons, map, form. For clinics, consultants and single shops.
- SEO site, from ₹20,000: 299+ pages, schema, sitemap and locality pages for areas you really serve.
- Store, from ₹50,000: catalogue, cart, Razorpay UPI and cards, delivery rules. For spice, snack and textile brands.
- Web app, from ₹60,000: logins, roles, reports, integrations. For exporters, agencies and service firms.
Seafood and spice exporters: websites buyers check first
India's seafood export trade began with frozen shrimp shipped from Cochin in the 1950s, and the Marine Products Export Development Authority still has its headquarters here. Processing units in and around Kochi, including the Aroor belt to the south, sell shrimp, squid, cuttlefish and fish to importers who rarely visit before a first order. Spice traders in Mattancherry and processors elsewhere in Ernakulam deal with similar buyers.
An importer shortlisting suppliers looks for evidence. That means a product page for each species or spice with sizes, grades, freezing or processing method, packing options and minimum order; a certifications page showing registrations and audits with dates; plant photographs; and a clear contact person who answers in English. We build these as structured pages that search engines understand, with downloadable specification sheets and a request-for-quote form that asks the questions your export team would otherwise ask by email.
Speed abroad matters. We host on infrastructure that serves pages quickly in the Middle East, Europe and East Asia, and we keep the site light. We also avoid making sustainability or quality claims your certifications do not support, because buyers check and one unsupported claim can cost you the order.
Homestays, cafés and tour operators in Fort Kochi and Mattancherry
Fort Kochi, Jew Town and Mattancherry draw travellers through most of the year, and the area is full of homestays, heritage hotels, cafés, antique shops and small tour and cooking-class operators. Most of them depend heavily on online travel agencies and pay commission on every booking made there. A direct website will not replace those platforms, but it can win back repeat guests and people who find you on Google Maps.
A homestay site should show each room honestly with photographs, the rate range, what is included, house rules and the walking distance to landmarks such as the Chinese fishing nets or the Paradesi Synagogue. A booking enquiry form or a direct WhatsApp link lets guests ask questions before paying. For cafés and restaurants, a fast menu page, opening hours and a correct Business Profile bring in far more walk-ins than an elaborate design.
Tour operators and experience hosts need something slightly more involved: a page per tour, availability, group size, meeting point and an online deposit through Razorpay. We keep all of it light enough for travellers using roaming data on a phone.
Infopark, SmartCity and the Kalamassery startup scene
Kakkanad, the Ernakulam district headquarters, holds Infopark, SmartCity Kochi and the Cochin Special Economic Zone, which between them host hundreds of IT and IT-enabled services companies alongside electronics, engineering and food units. At Kalamassery, the Kerala Startup Mission's integrated startup complex in the Technology Innovation Zone houses incubators such as Maker Village and BioNest. The result is a dense population of small software firms and product startups.
These teams can build software, but their own website is usually nobody's job. It ends up as a template that says little about what they actually deliver. We write and build service pages based on real projects, case studies with outcomes the client has allowed you to share, a careers page that brings in applications, and analytics that are set up correctly. Static builds keep hosting costs near zero and score well on Core Web Vitals, which matters when your prospects are technical.
For startups we set up landing pages that can change weekly, waitlist or demo booking flows, and simple content management so the founders can edit copy themselves. When the product needs a proper web application, a data pipeline or AI features, another of us and one of us can build that too, starting from ₹60,000.
Retailers on MG Road, Broadway and Edappally
Kochi retail runs from the old trading lanes of Broadway near the backwater edge, through the jewellery and textile showrooms of MG Road, to Edappally with its large malls and furniture and electronics stores. Shoppers compare prices online before they travel, especially for gold, sarees, electronics and furniture, and traffic on the main roads makes them reluctant to visit a store that may not have what they want.
For showrooms, a catalogue that is actually kept up to date does most of the work. Product pages with photographs, prices or price ranges, EMI and exchange details, and a “check availability on WhatsApp” button turn online browsing into visits. For jewellers, we can show daily gold rates on the site and designs grouped by weight and occasion, which is how Kerala customers tend to shop.
Onam, Vishu, Christmas and the wedding season bring the year's biggest sales. We plan offer pages and stock updates ahead of those dates so the site is ready when people start searching, not after the crowd has already gone elsewhere.
Hospitals, clinics and wellness centres
Kochi is a regional centre for healthcare, with large multi-speciality hospitals, many private clinics across Kadavanthra, Palarivattom and Kakkanad, dental and eye clinics in every neighbourhood, and Ayurveda centres serving both local patients and visitors from abroad. Patients research carefully, and families outside Kerala often search for a doctor on behalf of a parent living in Ernakulam.
A clinic website should make four things easy to find: which doctor treats what, when they are available, how to book, and how to get there. We build doctor profiles, treatment pages in plain English and Malayalam, appointment request forms linked to WhatsApp, and reminder messages. For diagnostic labs we add a test catalogue with preparation instructions and a secure way to deliver reports.
For Ayurveda and wellness centres attracting overseas guests, we write treatment and package pages carefully. We do not publish cure claims or unverifiable health promises, and we keep every statement consistent with what your physicians are prepared to stand behind.
Local search in Kochi: Malayalam, Manglish and landmarks
Kochi searches mix three habits. Some people search in English with a locality, such as “physiotherapy Palarivattom”. Some type Malayalam in its own script. Many type Malayalam words in English letters, often called Manglish, for example “nalla dental clinic Kakkanad” or “website undakkan ethra aakum”. And landmarks are common: “near Vyttila hub”, “near Lulu Edappally”, “near Kaloor stadium”. A good local SEO plan covers all of these, not just the English phrasing.
Map results depend on your Google Business Profile. We guide you through the category, service list, hours, genuine photographs and a regular, honest flow of reviews, and we make your name, address and phone number consistent across Justdial, IndiaMART and other listings. Because Kochi spreads across many municipal areas and panchayats, we help you describe your real service area rather than claiming the whole district.
The ordinary results depend on your website. We build a page for each service and for each area you genuinely cover, fix speed and mobile layout, add schema and submit a clean sitemap to Search Console. Monthly SEO starts at ₹10,000 with a short plain-language report. We make no promise of first place on Google.
- Business Profile setup and correction, categories and photo guidance
- Keywords in English, Malayalam script and Manglish
- Pages for landmarks and localities you actually serve
- Consistent listings on Justdial, IndiaMART and trade directories
- Monthly Search Console review with a readable summary
WhatsApp and AI automation for Kochi businesses
In Kochi, WhatsApp is where guests ask about room availability, patients request appointments, buyers ask for export prices and customers check stock. The messages arrive at all hours, often in a mixture of Malayalam and English, and staff lose time copying them into spreadsheets or forgetting to reply during busy periods.
Automation removes much of that. We link your WhatsApp Business number and website forms to a Google Sheet or simple CRM so every enquiry is saved with details and assigned to the right person. An AI assistant can answer the routine questions, such as check-in time, clinic hours, price lists or document requirements, in Malayalam or English, and pass anything unusual to a human. Exporters can have incoming buyer enquiries sorted by product and country; homestays can send arrival instructions automatically the day before check-in.
Automation projects start at ₹40,000. We study your current process first and automate only the parts that are repetitive and low-risk. Pricing negotiations, medical advice and payment decisions stay with your team.
Working with us from Kochi, without an office visit
We have no office in Kochi and we will not invent a Kakkanad address to seem local. We are three engineers working remotely for businesses across India. Without office rent or sales staff, our prices stay lower, and the person answering your message is one of the people writing the code.
A project begins with a call or WhatsApp conversation about your business and your customers. Within about two working days you receive a page plan, timeline and itemised quote. Once you approve it, we share a private preview link early in the build so you can check the real site on your own phone. Comments come on WhatsApp, and small changes usually go live the same day. We reply seven days a week on Indian time.
One of us leads full-stack development. Another of us handles AI, machine learning, AWS and data engineering. The third of us manages projects and works on data science and automation. You can speak to any of us directly at any stage.
Ownership, handover and two free months of support
We regularly meet Kochi businesses that cannot edit their own website. The developer registered the domain under their own name, the hosting renewal email goes to an address no one checks, and when the SSL certificate lapsed, browsers began warning visitors. Untangling this can take weeks.
Our rule is simple. The domain is registered in your name, hosting sits on an account you control, and at launch you receive every login, the full source code and a short note explaining how the site is put together. If you ever want to move to another developer, you can do so the same day without paying us anything.
The first two months after launch include free maintenance: content and price changes, bug fixes, security and dependency updates, backups, uptime monitoring and speed checks. That covers at least one monsoon and one festival season. Afterwards, maintenance continues from ₹8,000 a month, or you can pay only for individual changes.
A short checklist before hiring anyone in Kochi
Before paying any developer, ask whose name the domain will be registered in and whether you will receive the hosting login at launch. Ask to see two live sites they built and open them on your own phone on mobile data. Ask what support costs after launch and how quickly they fixed the last bug a client reported.
Be wary of promises of first-page rankings within weeks, and of quotes far below everyone else's with no explanation. Check that the price includes page titles, descriptions, a sitemap, Search Console setup and a look at your Business Profile. Leaving these out is how cheap builds stay cheap, and adding them later costs more.
Finally, notice how a developer replies before you have paid. Clear, quick, specific answers at the quotation stage are the best predictor of how they will behave when something breaks.
