A capital town that lives on arrivals
Almost every visitor to the Andamans passes through Sri Vijaya Puram. Flights land at Veer Savarkar International Airport, ships from Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam berth at Haddo, and ferries to Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep leave from the harbour side of town. That makes the capital the place where tourists sleep before and after the islands, hire cabs, buy tickets and eat their first seafood dinner.
Beyond tourism, the town runs on government offices, the port, defence establishments, schools, hospitals and a fishing economy. Shops around Aberdeen Bazaar and Goalghar supply both residents and visitors, and families who have lived here for generations came originally from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bengal, Kerala and the Hindi belt.
The name change in September 2024 created a small but real problem. Guests, airlines and older guidebooks still say Port Blair, while government notices and new listings say Sri Vijaya Puram. A business that appears under only one name misses part of its searches. We build pages that use both names naturally, so nobody has to guess.
What a website costs for an island business
Our pricing page lists starting prices, and they apply to the islands exactly as they do to the mainland. A static site of up to 100 pages, with room or tour pages, photos, a map, WhatsApp button and basic search setup, starts at ₹10,000 and takes one to two weeks. A 299+ page site built around itinerary and island searches starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks.
AI and WhatsApp automation starts at ₹40,000, an online store at ₹50,000, a custom booking or operations system at ₹60,000, and monthly SEO at ₹10,000. These are floors, not packages. A guest house with four rooms is quick. A tour company selling fifteen itineraries across three islands, with ferry-dependent schedules and a vehicle fleet, takes more work.
Quotes from other developers vary a great deal, so compare what is included rather than the headline number: who owns the domain, whether room pages can be edited without calling anyone, how the site behaves on a slow connection, and what happens after launch. We answer all four in writing before you pay anything.
- From ₹10,000: a clean site for a homestay, restaurant, cab service or shop.
- From ₹20,000: hundreds of itinerary, island and activity pages for a tour operator.
- From ₹40,000: WhatsApp enquiry handling and AI replies for peak season.
- From ₹60,000: booking, fleet and guide allocation built around your process.
Hotels and homestays: taking bookings without the portal cut
Hotels near Aberdeen Bazaar, Middle Point and Corbyn's Cove, and homestays spread across Junglighat, Dairy Farm and Garacharma, all compete for the same arrivals. Most rely heavily on online travel agencies, which bring volume but keep a commission and control the guest's contact details. A direct website does not replace those portals overnight, yet it gives repeat guests, referrals and tour-operator partners a way to book with you.
A good hotel site here answers practical questions first: how far the property is from the airport and Haddo Wharf, whether you arrange pickups, which rooms have sea views, what the meal plan covers, check-in times that fit early ferries, and how guests reach you if a flight is delayed. Honest photographs matter more than drone videos. Guests have been let down by filtered pictures before, and they read reviews closely.
We add a simple enquiry or booking request form that lands on WhatsApp with dates and guest numbers filled in, and a tariff page you can update yourself when the season changes. If you want live availability, we can connect a channel manager you already use rather than forcing a new system on you.
Tour operators: itineraries that respect ferry timetables
Andaman trips are shaped by boats. A guest cannot plan Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep and Baratang in the same way they plan a road trip, because ferry departures, weather and holiday rushes decide what is possible. Tour operators in Sri Vijaya Puram know this well, but their websites often show neat day-by-day plans that ignore it and then cause arguments later.
We build itinerary pages that are honest about timing: which day depends on a ferry, what happens if a sailing is cancelled, what is included and what the guest pays locally. Each package gets its own page, and so does each island and activity, which is how a 299+ page site takes shape naturally. Guests searching “Andaman 5 nights itinerary”, “Havelock ferry from Port Blair” or “Chidiya Tapu sunset trip” find a page written for that exact question.
Operators who also resell hotel rooms, cabs and ferry tickets need a clear line between confirmed and requested services. We keep that distinction visible on every page and in every booking confirmation, because a misunderstanding in the islands is expensive to fix once the guest has already landed.
Dive centres, snorkelling and water sports
Scuba diving, snorkelling, sea walks and glass-bottom boat trips are among the main reasons people come to the islands. Operators range from certified dive schools on Swaraj Dweep to small boat owners near North Bay and Wandoor. Their customers are careful, because safety is involved, and they read a website looking for signs of seriousness.
A dive or water sports site should state the certifications you actually hold, the courses you run, age and health requirements, what a first-time diver can expect, cancellation rules for bad weather, and who the instructors are. Photos should be your own. We never add badges, affiliations or safety claims that you cannot show on paper, and we write clearly that sea conditions decide whether a trip goes ahead.
We also build simple booking request forms that collect the details you need before a dive: preferred date, experience level, and any medical declarations you ask for. The form sends everything to WhatsApp so the instructor sees it before the guest arrives, not on the jetty.
Aberdeen Bazaar traders, restaurants and everyday services
Not every Sri Vijaya Puram business sells to tourists. Grocery wholesalers, hardware and building material dealers, mobile shops, pharmacies, tuition centres, clinics and repair services serve the town's permanent population and the government and defence families posted here. Almost all goods arrive by ship from the mainland, so stock and prices move with shipping schedules.
For these businesses a compact site with a product or service list, opening hours, delivery areas and a WhatsApp order button often does more than an elaborate design. A building material dealer near Junglighat can show which cement and steel brands are in stock this month. A restaurant near Aberdeen Bazaar can keep its menu current and tell visitors whether it takes cards and UPI.
Handicraft and souvenir sellers need extra care. Many shell and coral items are protected under Indian wildlife law, and buyers increasingly ask before purchasing. We will not list products made from protected species, and we help you describe wooden crafts, spices and coconut goods accurately, including what can legally be carried back to the mainland.
Fisheries, seafood suppliers and cold chains
The island administration counts shipping, tourism and fisheries as its key maritime sectors, and the fishing trade touches many Sri Vijaya Puram businesses: boat owners, fish landing agents, ice plants, cold storage operators, seafood restaurants and suppliers who send catch to hotels across South Andaman.
Most of this trade still runs on phone calls and memory. A supplier knows which hotel wants tuna on Tuesday and which restaurant pays late, but none of it is written down in one place. A simple order and delivery tool, where buyers place requests on a phone form and the supplier sees a daily list with quantities and payment status, removes a lot of confusion. Such tools start from ₹60,000.
For seafood restaurants, the website job is simpler: an honest menu, a note on what is caught fresh that day, opening hours and a map pin. We do not write claims about sustainability, catch methods or export quality unless you can document them.
Building for island internet and late-night planners
The undersea cable from Chennai, completed in 2020, changed mobile data in the islands, but coverage still varies from place to place, and guests often browse on hotel Wi-Fi or a weak signal on a ferry. A heavy site with autoplay video and large sliders simply fails for many of them. We keep pages light, compress images carefully and make sure the phone number and WhatsApp button appear first.
There is also a timing issue. Much of your enquiry traffic comes from the mainland in the evening, after office hours in Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru or Chennai. Guests fill forms at eleven at night and expect a reply by morning. A site that captures complete details, dates, number of guests, budget and islands of interest, lets you answer quickly without a long back-and-forth.
We test every page on a mid-range Android phone with network throttling before handover. If something loads slowly, we fix it before launch rather than explaining it away afterwards.
Local search under two names and four languages
Google Maps is where travellers decide which restaurant to walk into and which cab to call after landing. We set up or repair your Google Business Profile with correct categories, genuine photographs, hours and a pin that points to your real gate, not a nearby junction. We also make sure the listing makes sense to people searching either Port Blair or Sri Vijaya Puram.
On the website, we write separate pages for the places your customers name: Aberdeen Bazaar, Goalghar, Junglighat, Haddo, Dairy Farm, Garacharma, Bathubasti, Prothrapur, Corbyn's Cove and Chidiya Tapu, plus the islands you serve. Travellers search in English, and residents often search in Hindi, Tamil or Bengali, or in mixed phrases like “Port Blair mein sasta hotel” or “Andaman trip kitne din ka”. We write for the audience you actually serve.
Our SEO service includes directory cleanup, review guidance within Google's rules and a plain monthly report. Monthly work starts from ₹10,000. We never promise the top position, because no honest developer can.
- Google Business Profile setup with an accurate pin
- Pages for both the old and new city name
- Island and activity pages for tour operators
- Hindi, Tamil or Bengali pages for local customers
WhatsApp automation for the October to May rush
The tourist season brings a flood of repeated questions: Is the Havelock ferry included? How many days are enough? Is Ross Island open on Mondays? Can you pick us up at 6 a.m.? A small team can spend half the day typing the same answers, and enquiries go cold while they do.
We build WhatsApp flows that answer routine questions from your own tariff sheets, package lists and FAQs, collect trip details in a structured way, and hand the conversation to a person when the question needs judgement. Confirmations, pickup reminders and ferry-day notes can go out automatically to guests who have opted in. Every enquiry is logged, so you can see which packages people ask about most.
AI agents can draft replies in English or Hindi for staff to approve with a tap. Projects start from ₹40,000. Refunds, weather cancellations and complaints stay with your team, because those conversations need a human voice.
Schools, colleges, clinics and suppliers to government offices
As the administrative capital, Sri Vijaya Puram has a large public sector: union territory departments, the port, defence establishments and institutions such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology and Andaman Law College. Around them sit private schools, coaching centres, clinics, diagnostic labs and contractors who supply goods and services.
Schools and coaching centres need admission details, fee structures they are happy to publish, notices staff can update without calling a developer, and a way for parents to ask questions on WhatsApp. Clinics need doctor schedules, test lists and directions from the main junctions. Contractors need a plain capability page listing the work they do and the registrations they genuinely hold.
We keep all such pages factual. We do not name government departments as clients without permission, we do not publish results or placement numbers you cannot verify, and we avoid any wording that suggests an official connection you do not have.
Working with a remote team from across the sea
We have no office in Sri Vijaya Puram or anywhere in the islands, and we will not pretend otherwise. We are three engineers who work remotely for clients across India. For an island business that is less of a drawback than it sounds: most mainland agencies would not fly in either, and our prices stay lower because we do not pay for rent or a sales team.
A project begins with a call or a WhatsApp voice note. We send a page plan, a timeline and an itemised quote, then share a preview link you can open on your phone and show your partners. Changes happen over chat and screen sharing, and we reply every day of the week on Indian time.
One of us builds the full-stack side. Another of us handles AI, machine learning, AWS and data. The third of us manages projects and works on automation and data science. You can contact us and speak to the person doing the work.
Your domain, your code, and care through the monsoon
Many island businesses have lost a website because a mainland freelancer registered the domain in his own name and then stopped answering. Renewals lapsed, emails bounced and reviews linked to a dead page. We avoid that from the start: the domain and hosting are registered to you, and at launch you receive every password, the full source code and a short guide.
Maintenance is free for two months after launch. That covers tariff and package updates, bug fixes, security patches, backups and uptime checks. Those two months usually include the busiest weeks of your season, when a broken form costs the most. After that, care continues from ₹8,000 a month, or you can call on us only when needed.
The monsoon months are a good time for bigger changes: new photos, new itineraries, fresh island pages. We plan that work with you so the site is ready before bookings pick up again. Our web development page explains what each build includes.
