What does a website designer in Gandhinagar actually design?
Far more than colours. A website designer in Gandhinagar decides the order of information on each page, how big each heading is, where the photo goes, what the buttons say and how the whole thing reflows on a six-inch screen. Those choices decide whether a visitor stays for ten seconds or two minutes.
For a consultant near the Secretariat, design means looking credible and calm, with qualifications and assignment types easy to scan. For a builder in Kudasan, it means floor plans that can be read on a phone and a form that does not ask for too much. For a café near Infocity, it means a menu that loads instantly and directions anyone can follow.
- Structure: which pages exist and what each must make the visitor do
- Layout: the order and size of blocks on each page, phone first
- Type and colour: fonts for English and Gujarati, sizes, contrast and a small colour palette
- Imagery: which photos you need, how they are framed and cropped
- Words on buttons and forms: the small text that decides whether people act
On our side, one person leads design and front-end code, one handles hosting, speed and search settings, and one runs the schedule and collects your feedback.
Website designer vs web developer: which one do you need?
For most business websites you need both skills, and it helps when they sit in the same team. A designer decides how the site looks and reads; a developer makes it work, load fast and stay secure. When the two are different people with no shared plan, the finished site often looks unlike the approved design or loads slowly because nobody counted the weight of every image.
A designer alone is enough when
you already have a developer or platform and only need layouts, a style guide or a landing page mock-up.
A developer alone is enough when
you have approved designs, perhaps from an agency or a graphic designer, and need them coded faithfully.
You need both when
you are starting fresh or redesigning, which describes most Gandhinagar businesses that contact us.
We design in Figma or directly in code, depending on size, and the same team builds what you approved. If you already hold designs, our Figma to code work applies. For freelance design options generally, see freelance web designer.
Designing for Gandhinagar's audiences: officials, investors and families
Gandhinagar is Gujarat's planned capital, and its visitors are unusually varied. Government officers and tender evaluators check consultants and contractors. Investors and overseas clients look at firms in GIFT City, India's first International Financial Services Centre, and at technology firms in Infocity. Students and faculty connect with institutes such as IIT Gandhinagar, PDEU, NFSU and GNLU. Families in Kudasan, Sargasan and Raysan look for schools, clinics, restaurants and homes.
Each group reads differently. Officials and investors want restraint: clear headings, plain English, verifiable facts, no flashing banners. Families want warmth and practicality: photos of real people and places, timings, prices, Gujarati text and a quick WhatsApp route. Students want speed on a phone and information that is current.
Good design for this city usually means a calm grid, generous white space, readable type in two scripts and photography of your actual work. Stock images of glass towers that are clearly not in Gandhinagar undermine trust with exactly the visitors who check details.
Events add another audience. Firms exhibiting at Mahatma Mandir need a page that visitors can open from a QR code on a stand and understand in seconds.
How much does a website designer in Gandhinagar cost?
With us, design is included in the build: a fully designed and coded business site starts at ₹10,000 (about US$150). A larger SEO site starts at ₹20,000 and a designed online store at ₹50,000. Converting someone else's finished designs into code is quoted after we see the files.
Design effort, and therefore cost, rises with the number of unique page layouts, custom illustrations or icons, motion and animation, a full Gujarati version of each page, and copywriting. A site where five page types repeat across thirty pages costs less to design than one where every page is different.
Photography is the cost owners forget. Good photos of your office, team, project or product often matter more than any design decision. A local photographer is paid by you directly; for many small businesses, carefully shot phone photos following our shot list are enough.
When comparing design quotes, ask whether the price includes the build, the Gujarati pages and post-launch changes. A low design fee that excludes the code is only half a website. Budget benchmarks are on the Gandhinagar cost page.
Layout: how each page should be organised
Every page should answer three questions in its first screen on a phone: what is this, is it for me, and what do I do next? Everything else follows below.
- First screen: a plain headline saying what you do and for whom, one real photo, one main button
- Proof next: qualifications, completed projects, results or reviews you can stand behind
- Detail after: services, specifications, prices or timings in short scannable blocks
- Action again: repeat the main button near the end, plus WhatsApp and call
- Footer: address, map link, hours and secondary links, kept short
We sketch these layouts as simple wireframes first, then dress them in your type, colours and photos in Figma or straight in code. Reviewing a grey wireframe feels odd, but it is where the important decisions get made cheaply. Once the order of blocks is agreed, visual polish moves quickly.

Photography: what to shoot, and how a remote team directs it
Real photos of your work do more for a Gandhinagar website than any layout trick. Since we work remotely and do not shoot on site, we direct the photography instead: you or a photographer you hire take the pictures, and we plan, check and finish them.
- A shot list per page: entrance or signboard, team at work, the space, products or projects, close details
- Framing notes: landscape for page headers, portrait for phone sections, space left for text
- Light: daylight, lights on, no harsh flash; early morning or late afternoon for building exteriors
- People: real staff with their permission, not posed stock models
- A short video call during the shoot if you want live direction
After the shoot we select, crop, colour-correct lightly and compress every image into modern formats at several sizes, so a phone downloads a small version and a large screen a sharper one. Properties and interiors benefit most from a professional photographer; clinics, offices and shops often do well with a recent phone used carefully.
Typography and colour for Gujarati and English pages
Two scripts on one site need deliberate type choices. Gujarati letterforms have no headline bar and have vowel signs above and below, so they need more line height and often a slightly larger size than English to look balanced.
We pair a Gujarati typeface with the English one so the two feel related. Good free options on Google Fonts include Noto Sans Gujarati, Hind Vadodara, Mukta Vaani and Baloo Bhai 2, each with matching or companion Latin styles. We load only the weights you use, so fonts do not slow the page.
Colour stays restrained: one main colour from your logo, one accent for buttons, and neutral greys for text. Contrast between text and background is checked so people with weaker eyesight, and anyone reading outdoors on a phone, can read comfortably.
A short style sheet records these choices: fonts, sizes, colours and button styles. It keeps future pages consistent, whoever adds them.
Writing the words: English, Hindi and Gujarati copy
Design starts with words, because layout follows content. A page designed around placeholder text almost always needs reworking once real text arrives, so we gather or draft copy before final design.
The language split is honest. The BtechWaleTech team writes English and Hindi: headlines, service descriptions, button labels and form text, drafted from your notes or voice messages and approved by you. Gujarati copy comes from you, your staff or a translator you trust. We then design with the real Gujarati text, which is often longer than its English version, so nothing overflows on a small screen.
Short, specific wording helps every audience. “Book a site visit” beats “Submit”; “Admissions open for 2027 batch” beats “Welcome to our institute”. Claims about registrations, rankings or results are written only as you can document them, and checked by you before launch.
If your English and Gujarati audiences differ, the two versions need not be word-for-word. A family-facing Gujarati page can lead with timings and fees while the English version leads with credentials.
Designing for phones, WhatsApp and UPI
We design the phone layout first, at the narrow width of a budget Android handset, and widen it for desktop afterwards. Designing the other way round is how menus end up hidden and phone numbers end up three screens down.
Contact actions get thumb-sized buttons in a fixed position: call, WhatsApp and, where relevant, directions. The WhatsApp button opens with a short message already typed, mentioning the page the visitor was on, which saves both sides a round of questions.
Where you collect fees, deposits or booking amounts, a clean payment block with your UPI QR code and ID can be designed into the page; complete checkout with cards belongs to a store design. Forms are kept short, with phone fields that accept Indian numbers and large tap targets.
Before approval, every design is opened on a real low-cost phone over mobile data, not only on a designer's large monitor.
How does a website designer in Gandhinagar work with you remotely?
Through a few focused calls and a preview link, over about a week of design inside a 1–2 week build. You never need to travel or host a meeting.
- WhatsApp brief, plus links to two or three sites you like and why
- Video call: we look at your existing material, logo and photos together
- Itemised quote within about two working days; written approval
- Wireframes for the home page and one inner page, reviewed on a screen-share
- Visual design with your fonts, colours and real photos on a preview link
- One combined round of changes from everyone who must approve
- Build, Gujarati pages from your text, speed checks and launch
The most useful thing you can do is name one person who collects all feedback. Design reviews stall when four partners send conflicting comments on different days.
Website designer in Gandhinagar: approval checklist
Before you approve a design, check it against this list on your own phone. It takes ten minutes and saves weeks.
- In the first screen, can a stranger tell what you do and for whom?
- Is the main button visible without scrolling on a small phone?
- Are the photos yours, current and sharp?
- Is Gujarati text readable at normal size, without clipped vowel signs?
- Do headings and body text have enough contrast outdoors?
- Are phone, WhatsApp and address correct and tappable?
- Does every page have one clear next step?
- Are claims, qualifications and figures accurate and provable?
- Does the design still work with longer real text?
- Is anything moving or animated that could slow the page or distract?
Design choices that affect Google, speed and AI search
Design is not separate from search. Heavy hero videos, oversized images, many font files and layout shifts all hurt Core Web Vitals, which Google reports in Search Console and which shape how quickly visitors leave.
So we design with a speed budget: compressed images in modern formats, two font families at most, no auto-playing video above the fold, and space reserved for images so the page does not jump as it loads. Headings follow a proper order, images get descriptive alt text, and important text is real text, never baked into a picture.
Clear structure also helps AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews, which quote pages that state facts plainly under sensible headings. A designed page that says “orthodontist in Sargasan, open Monday to Saturday” in text is easier to cite than a stylish banner image saying the same thing.
We set titles, descriptions and structured data at launch. Rankings themselves cannot be guaranteed by anyone; monthly SEO from ₹10,000/mo is available if you want ongoing work.
How to choose a website designer in Gandhinagar, and red flags
Judge designers by live sites on your phone, not by portfolio images. A beautiful screenshot says nothing about whether the real page loads quickly or reads well in Gujarati.
- Show me three live sites you designed; who coded them?
- How will Gujarati text look next to English on a small phone?
- Will I receive the design files, and in whose account?
- How many revision rounds are included, and what counts as a revision?
- Who pays for stock photos and font licences, and in whose name?
Red flags: portfolios built entirely from purchased templates; designs full of stock photos of other cities; no answer about speed; designers who cannot say who will build the site; and refusal to share source files. Be cautious, too, of anyone promising that a new design alone will lift your Google ranking.

Who owns the designs, fonts and photos?
You should own everything made for you. Design files are shared into an account you control, the code sits in your repository, and the domain and hosting are in your business name.
Fonts and images need a little care. Google Fonts are released under open licences that allow commercial websites, so there is nothing to renew. Paid fonts or stock photos, if you choose them, are bought in your name so the licence stays with your business. Photos taken by a photographer you hire should come with written permission to use them on the website and elsewhere.
At handover you receive the design files, a short style sheet with fonts, colours and button styles, the edited image set in full resolution, and the usual sheet of logins and renewal dates. Another designer or developer can continue from there. Our terms are public.
Worked example: an events venue near Koba (hypothetical)
Imagine a banquet and lawn venue near Koba that hosts weddings, corporate dinners and exhibitor parties during large events in the city. Its current site is a single page with a slideshow of dim photos and a phone number. Enquiries come mostly from Instagram and ask the same questions: capacity, catering rules, parking, dates. This scenario is made up to illustrate the design approach.
We would design around those questions. The first screen would show one strong evening photo of the lawn, a headline naming the venue type and location, and a “check a date” button opening WhatsApp. Below: spaces with capacities, a menu summary, parking and directions from the highway, and a gallery grouped by event type. A Gujarati version of the main pages would use text the owner's family writes.
Photography would follow a shot list: the lawn at dusk, the hall set for dinner, the entrance, parking, food close-ups, shot by a local photographer the owner hires, with a call during the shoot.
This fits within the ₹10,000 plan. Success would mean fewer repeated questions and more enquiries naming a date; we would not forecast bookings. Similar venues can read banquet hall website design.
After launch: design tweaks, free care and nearby towns
For two months after launch, small design and content changes are free: swapping a photo, adjusting a heading, adding a seasonal banner, fixing anything that looks wrong on a particular phone. From the third month, care is optional and starts at ₹8,000/mo.
Look at the site again after a season. Admissions, festival trade or a new project may need a fresh landing page using the same style sheet, which keeps the brand consistent and the work quick.
We design the same remote way for businesses around the capital. See GIFT City, Kalol, Vijapur and Himmatnagar, or compare the Ahmedabad website designer page. Other IT services are on IT services in Gandhinagar.
