What Rampur's economy looks like from a website builder's desk
Rampur is a district town with a long memory. The Nawabs left behind the Raza Library, the Kothi Khas Bagh, a strong tradition of Urdu poetry and a reputation for fine textiles and a famous folding knife. Today the district is mostly agricultural, with very fertile land, and its industry is a mix of sugar processing, a distillery that has operated since 1943, textile weaving, plywood, agricultural implements, kite making and beedi rolling.
That mix shapes what a website has to do. A zari workshop needs a catalogue that makes wholesale buyers in Delhi take it seriously. A mentha trader needs a page that tells distillers and exporters what grades and quantities are on offer. A shop in Miston Ganj needs little more than a correct Google Maps listing and a WhatsApp button. A school or clinic in Civil Lines needs parents and patients to find timings and fees without calling three times.
We start every Rampur project by asking who your next customer is and how they will look for you. Sometimes the answer is a five-page site. Sometimes it is a Google Business Profile and nothing else for now. We would rather tell you that than sell you something you will not use.
Website prices for Rampur businesses, stated up front
Ask around in Rampur and you will hear everything from ₹1,500 for a one-page template to ₹40,000 or more from a city agency. The cheap versions are usually built on a free theme, hosted on the developer's account and never touched again. The costly ones may be fine, but part of what you pay covers an office and a sales team.
Our figures are on the pricing page for anyone to see. A static site of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and takes one to two weeks. A 299+ page site planned around real search phrases starts at ₹20,000 and takes three to five weeks. An online store is from ₹50,000, a custom web application from ₹60,000, WhatsApp and AI automation from ₹40,000 and monthly SEO from ₹10,000.
What moves the number is content and scope. A tailor with twelve designs is quick. A patchwork exporter with four hundred SKUs, each needing sizes and fabric notes, takes longer. We send an itemised quote, usually within two working days, and nothing is billed until you approve it in writing.
- ₹10,000 and up: up to 100 pages, mobile layout, WhatsApp and call buttons, map, basic SEO. Shops, tutors, clinics, small workshops.
- ₹20,000 and up: 299+ pages, one per product line or service, built for Google. Traders and growing firms.
- ₹50,000 and up: online store with UPI, cards and courier settings. Zari, appliqué and craft sellers.
- ₹60,000 and up: custom tools with logins, such as job-work tracking or dealer ordering.
Zari patchwork and appliqué: selling Rampur's ODOP crafts directly
Uttar Pradesh lists zari patchwork and patchwork with appliqué work as Rampur's One District One Product crafts. Metallic-thread zari decorates suits, dupattas, lehengas and wedding wear, while appliqué pieces turn cut fabric into bedcovers, cushion covers, wall hangings and bags. Much of the stitching is done in homes and small karkhanas, then collected by traders who sell onward to wholesalers in bigger cities.
A website lets a workshop show that work under its own name. We give each design family a page with fabric, thread type, size options, a close photo of the stitching and the reverse side, which buyers use to judge quality. For wholesale, we add minimum order quantities, a downloadable price list and an enquiry form that accepts reference images, since boutiques often send their own sketches.
Where retail makes sense, the same catalogue becomes a store with UPI and card payment through Razorpay, clear dispatch times and a returns rule that suits handmade goods. Applying for ODOP support or exhibitions often asks for an online presence too, and a clean site with your own photographs is far more convincing than a marketplace listing that looks like everyone else's.
Mentha oil, sugarcane and the farm economy around Bilaspur and Tanda
Mentha is the third Rampur ODOP entry. Farmers across the district grow Japanese mint and distil the leaves into oil that goes to processors making menthol, flavours, cosmetics and pharmaceutical ingredients. Traders and small distillation units in the tehsils sit between thousands of growers and a handful of large buyers, and prices move sharply through the season.
For these businesses the website is less about looks and more about trust and speed. A clear page describing the grades you handle, testing you arrange, packing, minimum quantities and dispatch routes helps a buyer outside the state decide to call you. A rate-request form or WhatsApp link that logs every enquiry means the one that arrives at harvest peak is not lost under hundreds of chats.
Sugarcane, paddy and wheat are also central to the district, and many farming families in Bilaspur, Tanda and Suar speak Punjabi as well as Hindi. Seed and fertiliser dealers, tractor workshops and agricultural implement makers here can benefit from a short site in Hindi, and a Punjabi page where it fits, with stock lists, service timings and a map pin that farmers can follow from the highway.
Shops and showrooms from Shahabad Gate to Miston Ganj
Rampur's retail trade still revolves around its old gates and main roads: the market lanes near Shahabad Gate, the shops of Miston Ganj, the showrooms on Civil Lines and along Jail Road and Khas Bagh Road. Tailors, jewellers, furniture sellers, electronics dealers and sweet shops depend on repeat customers and wedding seasons.
Most of these shops do not need a large website. They need their Google Business Profile to show the right category, real opening hours, a working phone number and photographs of the actual shop front, so a customer walking or driving through can find the entrance. A small site with a product range, a WhatsApp catalogue link and festival offers is enough to convert that search into a visit.
For larger showrooms, such as furniture, bridal wear or electronics, a 20 to 299+ page site with a page per category helps them appear when someone in Milak or Suar searches for a particular item before making the trip to the city.
Schools, colleges, coaching centres and clinics
Rampur has Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, many degree colleges and a large number of private schools and coaching institutes, plus nursing homes, diagnostic labs and clinics that serve patients from across the district. Families increasingly compare them on their phones before visiting.
For schools we build admission pages, fee and transport details, a notice board the office can update, a photo gallery and a simple results page that shows only what you can verify. For coaching centres we add batch timings, faculty profiles and a WhatsApp enquiry route. For clinics, the essentials are doctor qualifications, OPD timings, services, directions and appointment requests, written in plain Hindi and Urdu as well as English.
We avoid invented toppers, made-up success rates and medical promises. Parents and patients in a town where everyone knows everyone will notice exaggeration quickly, and plain accuracy earns more calls.
Heritage, hospitality and the visitors who come for the Raza Library
The Rampur Raza Library holds more than 12,000 rare manuscripts along with Mughal miniature paintings, and it draws researchers, students and heritage travellers. The Kothi Khas Bagh, the Jama Masjid, the Gandhi Samadhi and the city's place in Urdu poetry add to the reasons people visit, and many come for weddings and family events too.
Hotels, guest houses, banquet halls, caterers and travel operators can reach these visitors with an honest website: rooms with real photos, distance to the library and the railway station, hall capacities, menu options and a booking enquiry that goes to WhatsApp. Travellers searching from Delhi or Lucknow will compare you on Google, so accurate photos and reviews matter.
Caterers and sweet shops can also use a simple order page for events, with minimum quantities and advance timelines, which cuts down the endless back-and-forth calls before every wedding season.
Getting found on Google in Rampur, in Urdu, Hindi and Hinglish
Local search has two halves. The map pack depends on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how close you are to the person searching. The list below it depends on your website. In Rampur many profiles are unclaimed, duplicated or pinned to the wrong lane, so tidying them up is often the quickest win available.
Search habits here are mixed. People type “Rampur me achha tailor”, “Civil Lines Rampur clinic timing” or “zari suit wholesale Rampur” in Roman script, and a good share of residents read Urdu comfortably. Buyers from outside the region search in English. We write pages for each group, keep your name, address and phone number identical on Justdial, IndiaMART and other directories, and add schema so Google understands what you sell and where.
Our SEO service starts at ₹10,000 a month and includes a short monthly report in plain language. We never promise the first position, because nobody can honestly guarantee it.
- Claiming or correcting your Google Business Profile, with the right category and real photos
- Pages for Hinglish and Hindi searches, and Urdu content where your customers prefer it
- English product pages for buyers in Delhi, Mumbai and abroad
- Consistent listings on Justdial, IndiaMART and trade directories
- A plan for collecting genuine reviews from real customers
WhatsApp and AI automation that suits a Rampur workshop or office
Most orders in Rampur arrive as WhatsApp messages, photographs and voice notes. A patchwork trader gets design queries from buyers in three states while supervising karigars. A school office answers the same fee question fifty times in April. A mentha trader has to reply to rate requests before the price changes.
We automate the repetitive layer. Every enquiry from WhatsApp or the website lands in a Google Sheet with a name, number and what they asked about. Standard questions on price lists, catalogues, fees or timings get an instant reply in Urdu, Hindi or English, and anything unusual comes straight to you. Job-work sent to home-based karigars can be logged with dates and piece counts, so payments are easier to settle.
Automation projects start at ₹40,000. We look at your routine first and only automate what is safe to automate. Negotiation, payments and anything sensitive stay in your hands. If your volume is too small for automation to pay off, we will say so.
Working with a remote team when you are in Rampur
We do not have an office in Rampur, or in any other city, and we will not pretend otherwise. We are three engineers who work remotely for businesses across India. No rent and no salespeople is a large part of why our prices are lower than agency quotes.
The process runs on calls and WhatsApp. First a conversation about what you sell and to whom, then a written page plan, timeline and itemised quote. Within a week or two you get a live preview link to open on your own phone and show your partners. Corrections are sent as WhatsApp messages and small ones are usually finished the same day. We answer seven days a week, Indian time.
One of us handles full-stack development. Another of us works on AI, machine learning, AWS and data. The third of us runs projects and handles automation and data science. You can reach any of us directly, and you always know who is working on your site.
Keeping your domain, code and logins in your own hands
We hear the same story in Rampur again and again: a relative or local operator registered the domain in his own name, moved away or stopped answering, and the business lost its site and email address with it. Fixing that later is slow and sometimes impossible.
So the domain and hosting are bought in your name from day one. At launch you receive every password, the complete source code and a short note on how things are set up. If you ever want another developer, you can move without asking our permission and without paying any exit fee.
Maintenance is free for two months after launch: text and price edits, bug fixes, security patches, backups, uptime monitoring and speed checks. After that it costs from ₹8,000 a month, or you can skip the plan and message us only when you need something done.
Questions to put to any web developer before you pay
Whose name will the domain be in? Who holds the hosting login? Can you see three live sites the developer built, on your own phone, and do they load quickly on mobile data? What happens when something breaks four months after launch, and is that fix included or billed?
Also ask whether the price covers page titles, meta descriptions, a sitemap and Search Console setup, since these basics are often left out of cheap quotes. Be wary of anyone who guarantees the top spot on Google in a month. And pay attention to how quickly they reply before you have paid, because it rarely improves afterwards.
You are welcome to ask us all of these questions. If you want to compare, the answers are also on our web development page.
