How much does website development cost in Delhi?
There is no single price, but there are honest starting points. With the BtechWaleTech team, website development cost in Delhi begins at ₹10,000 (about US$150) for a business website of up to 100 pages, ₹20,000 for an SEO website of 299+ pages, ₹50,000 for an online store and ₹60,000 for a portal or custom web app.
What you finally pay depends on scope. A clinic wanting eight pages, its own photos and an appointment form will sit near the start. A wholesaler wanting two thousand products with trade logins sits much higher, possibly in custom web app territory. Two businesses on the same street in Karol Bagh can need very different budgets.
On top of the build come running costs, paid by you to the providers: the domain renewal, hosting, business email and, for stores, platform plans and payment charges. These are modest for most small sites, but they recur every year, so a fair quote names them.
Finally, think about life after launch. Every site we build gets two months of maintenance free; after that, care is optional from ₹8,000/mo a month, and monthly SEO from ₹10,000/mo if you want to grow traffic deliberately. Some owners need neither; others, such as stores and institutes posting results, benefit from both. The sections below take each part of the cost in turn, so you can build your own estimate before calling anyone.
Why do website quotes in Delhi vary so widely?
Because Delhi has every kind of provider and every kind of buyer. The same request, “a website for my business”, can reach a student freelancer, a three-person team, a mid-sized outfit with a sales floor or a large agency, and each prices a different job.
The buyers vary just as much. A spice trader in Khari Baoli, a jeweller in Dariba Kalan and a toy wholesaler in Sadar Bazaar need catalogues; an Okhla garment exporter needs an English capability site that overseas buyers trust; a coaching centre in Mukherjee Nagar needs batch pages its staff can edit. Okhla is one of 24 approved industrial areas the Delhi Labour Department lists, and each of those areas holds manufacturers with their own requirements.
So quotes differ for concrete reasons:
- Template or custom: a recoloured theme versus layouts drawn for you
- Who does the work: the developer you met, or a junior behind an account manager
- Overheads: office rent and sales salaries end up inside the price
- What is left out: content loading, mobile testing, SEO basics, hosting setup
- After launch: free support, an annual contract, or pay-per-fix
None of these makes a high quote wrong or a low one dishonest. They do mean that comparing totals without comparing lines is meaningless. Our page on hiring a freelance web developer in Delhi covers the contract side of that comparison.
What drives the cost of a website in Delhi, from biggest to smallest?
Seven drivers explain most of the difference between a site that costs ₹10,000 and one that costs several times more. Roughly in order of impact:
1. Features that store or move data
Logins, booking engines, dealer portals, payments and integrations with billing or stock software. Each adds design, code, testing and security work.
2. Distinct page layouts
Twenty pages sharing three templates cost far less than twelve pages each designed differently.
3. Product or page volume
A catalogue of two thousand items needs import tools, filters and search; fifty items do not.
4. Content readiness
Ready text and photos keep cost down. Sorting a photographed price register or writing every page from scratch adds hours.
5. Languages
A Hindi version adds translation, typesetting and testing; Punjabi or Urdu add typography and layout work around your translator's copy.
6. Platform
Static, WordPress, Shopify or custom code carry different build effort and different running costs.
7. Speed of decisions
Projects where one person approves quickly cost less to run than those with long gaps and many reviewers.
Notice what is missing from the list: your locality. A shop in Chandni Chowk and a consultancy in Saket pay the same starting prices with us, because the work is remote and the effort is identical. If someone quotes more simply because your address sounds expensive, ask them which line that covers.
Sample website budgets for Delhi businesses, by type
These are illustrative scopes, not quotes for real clients, showing where typical Delhi businesses usually land with us. Your own quote follows a call.
Old Delhi wholesaler
A catalogue of a few hundred items with codes, carton sizes and WhatsApp enquiry: from ₹10,000, plus separate lines for a Hindi version and spreadsheet-driven product pages.
Clinic or diagnostic lab
Eight to fifteen pages with doctor profiles, timings, test lists and an appointment request form: from ₹10,000, usually close to the start if photos are ready.
Coaching institute
Courses, batches, faculty roles, results and an admission form on WordPress so staff can edit: from ₹10,000, with Hindi pages and a results archive as possible extras.
Industrial unit in Okhla or Naraina
An English capability site with process pages, plant photos and an RFQ form: from ₹10,000; a product-by-product SEO site moves it to ₹20,000.
D2C brand
An online store with UPI, card and COD checkout, shipping rules and GST-ready invoices: from ₹50,000; wholesale logins or subscriptions add lines.
Distributor with dealers
A portal where stockists see rates, place orders and track dispatch: from ₹60,000, usually built in phases.
Each budget excludes third-party costs such as the domain, hosting and payment charges, which you pay directly. The Delhi developer page explains what each build contains, and the Delhi ecommerce page breaks down stores further.
What does a website cost per year in Delhi after it is built?
The build is a one-time cost; a few smaller costs recur every year, and they are paid by you directly to the providers, never routed through us. Knowing them upfront avoids the most common surprise in the second year.
- Domain renewal: yearly, to the registrar; .in domains are administered by NIXI, the National Internet Exchange of India
- Hosting: monthly or yearly, depending on the plan and traffic; static sites need very little
- Business email: per mailbox, if you want addresses on your own domain
- SSL certificate: often free, since Let's Encrypt issues certificates at no charge and many hosts install them automatically
- Store extras: a Shopify plan or WooCommerce hosting, payment charges per transaction, paid apps or plugins
- Maintenance: free for the first two months, then optional care from ₹8,000/mo a month
- SEO: optional, from ₹10,000/mo a month
Provider prices change, so we name your chosen providers and their current charges in the quote rather than printing figures here that may be out of date. A simple profile site on static hosting has very low running costs; a busy store carries more, mostly in payment and courier charges that scale with sales. Our page on the yearly cost of a website walks through a typical year line by line.
The platform changes both the build cost and the running cost, so choose it for how you work, not for fashion.
Static site
Lowest running cost and very fast. Best for sites that change a few times a month, with edits sent to us. Business sites start at ₹10,000.
WordPress
Similar build cost for small sites, a little more upkeep because themes and plugins need updates. Worth it when your staff will edit content weekly.
Shopify
Store build from ₹50,000, plus a monthly Shopify plan and any paid apps. Low technical upkeep, predictable monthly bills.
WooCommerce
Store build from ₹50,000, hosting you control and no platform plan, but more maintenance responsibility.
Custom code
From ₹60,000. Necessary for portals, complex pricing rules and integrations; pays off only when templates genuinely cannot do the job.
Cheap page builders can look like a saving and turn expensive later: heavy pages hurt speed, and moving away means rebuilding. Our comparison of a custom website and a template sets out when each pays off.
A useful test: list who will edit the site, how often, and what they will change. If the answer is “the owner, twice a month, prices and photos”, a static build with edits sent on WhatsApp is usually the cheapest option over three years.
What should the price of a Delhi website include?
Before comparing numbers, check that each quote covers the same work. A complete business website price should include:
- A page plan agreed with you, with each page's purpose
- Mobile-first design reviewed on a working staging link
- Development, forms and a WhatsApp button with pre-filled messages
- Click-to-call, map and directions from the nearest metro station
- A UPI payment link where you take advances or fees
- Loading your text and photos, compressed for phones
- Testing on budget Android phones and slow data
- Titles, descriptions, schema, sitemap and Search Console
- Domain connection, SSL and hosting set up in your name
- Handover: logins, renewal sheet and a walkthrough video
- A defined period of free support after launch
If a quote is silent on any of these, ask. Silence usually means “not included”, and each missing item tends to reappear later as an extra bill or as a job you do yourself. With us, every item above is part of the starting price for a business website; things genuinely outside it, such as photography, logo design or paid ads, are named as exclusions.
Stores and portals have longer lists of their own, covering payments, invoices, shipping and user roles; those are itemised in the same way, so you can see exactly what the larger figure buys.
Hidden costs and red flags that inflate website development cost in Delhi
A low quote is not a problem in itself. A low quote with gaps is. These are the patterns that turn a cheap Delhi website into an expensive one:
- Hosting “free for life” on the developer's server, with your site trapped there
- Domain registered in the developer's name, then a large fee to transfer it
- Renewals marked up and billed through the developer
- Paid themes or plugins on the developer's licence, which lapses when they leave
- Every small text change charged separately with no support period
- Content loading excluded, so you discover the job after paying
- Promises of guaranteed rankings that lead to paid add-on packages
- Full payment upfront, leaving you no bargaining power if the project stalls
Ask any provider to put the domain, hosting and licences in your name, list exclusions in writing and state what support follows launch. If those three answers are clear, a low quote may be a genuine bargain. If they are vague, the saving is temporary.
The same logic applies to maintenance. A provider who charges nothing for support but also promises nothing will still bill you when the contact form breaks. A clear, optional care plan with a stated price is cheaper to live with than an open-ended “call us whenever”.
How to compare website development quotes in Delhi line by line
Put every quote into the same table before judging. It takes twenty minutes and usually makes the decision obvious.
- List pages and features down the left side
- Mark which quote includes each one, and which says nothing
- Add third-party costs each quote mentions, and note those it ignores
- Note the support period after launch and what it covers
- Note whose name the accounts will be in
- Note the payment schedule and what you see before each payment
- Only then compare totals
Ask each provider the same questions in the same order, including us, and prefer the one whose answers are specific. Before choosing, open two or three sites each provider has built, on your phone over mobile data; speed and readability there predict your own site better than any sales call. Check whether each quote states taxes the same way, so you are comparing like with like.
If one quote is far below the others, ask what it leaves out rather than assuming the others are overcharging. If one is far above, ask what extra it delivers. Both answers are useful. The India-wide guide comparing a freelancer and an agency for a website adds the non-price factors.
Does a Hindi or bilingual website cost more in Delhi?
Yes, modestly, and it is often worth it. A second language means translated pages, menus, buttons, form messages and page titles, separate URLs with hreflang tags, and testing that the script renders properly on budget phones. The quote shows it as its own line, so you can decide with the number in front of you.
The BtechWaleTech team writes and edits English and Hindi, so a Hindi version needs no outside translator. Hindi pages suit wholesalers whose retail buyers in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Haryana read Hindi first, neighbourhood clinics, and institutes whose students prefer it.
Delhi's language law also recognises Punjabi and Urdu: the Delhi Official Language Act, 2000 makes them second official languages after Hindi. For those, or any other language, you or your translator supply or approve the copy, and we build the typography, right-to-left layout for Urdu, the language switcher and the separate URLs. The cost then covers technical work rather than writing, and fonts such as Noto Sans Gurmukhi from Google Fonts are free to use.
A sensible way to control cost is to translate the pages that sell: home, main products or services, contact and FAQs. Background pages can follow later if visitors use the Hindi version. Our Hindi SEO page explains how those pages can rank for Hindi and Hinglish searches.
What does SEO add to the website development cost in Delhi?
Basic search setup should be inside the build price, not an extra. Every site we deliver includes unique titles and descriptions, clean URLs, fast mobile pages, LocalBusiness schema, an XML sitemap and Google Search Console in your account, plus advice on matching your Google Business Profile exactly.
Ongoing SEO is a separate, optional cost, from ₹10,000/mo a month with us. It covers work that continues after launch: new pages for products, services or localities people search for, improving pages that almost rank, technical fixes, Business Profile upkeep and reporting. Whether you need it depends on competition; a specialist clinic in a quiet locality may do well on basics, while a store competing across India needs steady work.
Large catalogues sometimes justify an SEO website of 299+ pages, from ₹20,000, where a page is generated for every product, service or area from your data. That costs more upfront and replaces a lot of later content work.
Be wary of any quote that bundles “guaranteed page one” SEO. Nobody can guarantee rankings, and such packages often rely on spammy links. AI assistants and Google's AI Overviews favour pages that answer questions plainly and quickly, which is cheaper to build correctly the first time than to retrofit later.
When do you pay, and how long until the site is live?
With us, you pay in stages that follow work you can see, by UPI or bank transfer in INR. Nothing is billed before you approve the itemised quote in writing. The usual rhythm for a business website is a first payment on approval, then later stages after design approval, after the full build on staging, and at launch.
Timelines run from your approval and assume content arrives as agreed: one to two weeks for a business website, three to five weeks for an SEO website, four to eight weeks for an online store and six to twelve for a custom web app. Everything happens remotely, through WhatsApp, video calls with screen-share and a staging link you can open on your phone at any hour.
Time affects cost more than people expect. A project that pauses for a month while photos are gathered costs more effort to restart than one that runs continuously, so we agree content dates on the first call. Festival deadlines matter too: if you want a site live before Diwali or an admission season, start early enough that the schedule is relaxed rather than rushed.
Third-party costs follow their own schedule: you pay the registrar, host and any platform directly when you open those accounts, usually in the first week.
Why ownership matters to the true website development cost in Delhi
The cheapest website becomes the most expensive one the day you discover you do not own it. If the domain, hosting or code sit in someone else's name, every change, renewal or move depends on them, and recovering control can cost more than the original build.
With us, the domain, hosting, code, content and business email are registered in your name or your business name from day one. At handover you receive owner-level logins, the code in a repository you own or a full backup, a renewal sheet listing every service and date, Search Console and analytics on your own Google account, and a recorded walkthrough.
This keeps your future costs in your hands. You can stay with us for optional care after the two free months, manage the site yourselves, or bring in another developer without paying anyone to release anything. That freedom is part of what the price buys.
If you are paying for a site whose accounts someone else controls, sort that out before spending more. Our guide for owners whose developer left the project midway explains how to recover the domain and decide whether to repair or rebuild.
Worked example: a stationery wholesaler in Nai Sarak compares three quotes (hypothetical)
This scenario is invented to show how to read quotes; it is not a real client, and no outcome is claimed. Say a stationery and book wholesaler on Nai Sarak, a street Wikipedia describes as the wholesale market for stationery, books and paper, wants a catalogue site for schools and retailers across north India.
Quote one is the lowest, a single figure with no page list; the domain would be in the developer's name and content loading is not mentioned. Quote two is the highest, from a large agency, with custom design, content loading and an annual maintenance contract. Quote three comes from us: from ₹10,000 for the catalogue, with spreadsheet-driven product pages and a Hindi version as separate lines, hosting and domain in the wholesaler's name, and two months of free maintenance.
Laid side by side, the gaps become clear. Quote one leaves out loading roughly a thousand products, which the wholesaler's staff would have to do. Quote two includes things the business may not need. Ours shows each optional line, so the owner can drop the Hindi version for now and add it before the next school season.
Whichever the wholesaler picks, the right decision comes from comparing lines, not totals, and from asking each provider the same questions about ownership, support and payment stages.
Website development cost across Delhi NCR: Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad
Our prices do not change at the border. Because the work is remote, a business in Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad or Faridabad pays the same starting prices as one in Delhi, follows the same process and owns its accounts in the same way.
What does change across the region is the kind of site businesses need, and so the typical scope. Gurugram's corporate services and startups often want custom builds or web apps; Noida's IT firms, schools and electronics makers usually need profile sites and portals; Faridabad's engineering units want capability sites; Ghaziabad's traders and institutes often start with catalogues and admission pages. Those differences, not the address, drive the quote.
