What is the real website development cost in Bangalore?
The honest answer is a range set by scope: how many kinds of page you need, how much design work they take, what has to be connected, and who looks after the site afterwards. The city itself adds little; a clinic site in Jayanagar and one in Mysuru take the same work.
Our starting points: a business website of up to 100 pages from ₹10,000, an SEO website of 299+ pages from ₹20,000, an online store from ₹50,000 and a portal or web app from ₹60,000. “Starting” means the figure covers a typical version of that build; the itemised quote then adds or removes lines for your project.
Which budget level fits which Bangalore buyer?
- Business website: clinics, schools, coaching centres, restaurants, consultancies, interior designers and most manufacturers
- SEO website: businesses targeting many services, localities or cities, such as multi-branch clinics, suppliers selling across India or directories
- Online store: D2C brands, retailers and food or gifting businesses that take payment online
- Portal: distributors, service businesses and institutes that need logins, records and dashboards
A credible quote for any of these lists the pages, features, integrations, third-party costs, timeline and what happens after launch. If a quote in Bangalore is a single number with none of that detail, you cannot compare it with anything, however attractive the number looks.
Why do website development quotes in Bangalore vary so much?
Because Bangalore has every kind of provider and every kind of buyer, and quotes reflect both.
On the provider side, there are agencies with offices in Koramangala, Indiranagar or Whitefield and sales teams to pay for; design-led teams that price for funded startups; solo freelancers, many of them salaried developers working evenings; template sellers; and remote freelance teams such as ours. Developer salaries in the city are shaped by competition from technology employers, and the state's Invest Karnataka portal describes Bengaluru Urban as the largest technology base in Asia, so skilled time is not cheap for anyone hiring locally.
On the buyer side, a Series A startup in HSR Layout, a two-chair dental clinic in Basavanagudi and a fabrication unit in Peenya, which Invest Karnataka calls the largest industrial cluster in Bengaluru Urban, all ask for “a website” but need very different things.
The result: quotes for the same brief can differ widely, and most of the gap comes from four places:
- Overheads such as offices, sales staff and account managers
- Scope assumptions that differ between providers but are rarely written down
- Whether content, testing, launch and aftercare are included
- Whether the site is custom-built or a template with your logo
None of these is wrong in itself. The mistake is comparing totals without comparing what sits behind them.
What drives website development cost in Bangalore? Eight factors
Knowing the drivers lets you control the budget instead of just reacting to it. In rough order of impact:
- Unique page types: twelve pages sharing two layouts cost far less than twelve pages with twelve layouts
- Design depth: a clean system built from your logo, or custom illustration, animation and a full visual identity
- Content: loading text you supply, editing it, or writing it from interviews
- Features: booking, payments, calculators, member areas, search and filters each add work
- Integrations: CRM, billing or stock software, ERP feeds and WhatsApp automation
- Languages: each extra language adds templates, testing and content management
- Existing site: migrating content, mapping redirects and protecting email during the switch
- Platform: static, WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce or custom, each with different build and running costs
Two things affect cost less than people expect: the number of pages, if they share templates, and the city. Our SEO websites of 299+ pages start at ₹20,000 precisely because pages are generated from your data rather than built one by one. Website development cost in Bangalore is therefore far more in your control than it first appears. A firm launch date matters too; tell us early so the plan fits it, rather than squeezing the testing at the end.
Sample website budgets for Bangalore businesses
These are typical starting points for common Bangalore businesses. Each is a starting price; your quote depends on the details.
Clinic in Jayanagar or JP Nagar
Business website from ₹10,000: treatment pages, doctor profiles described by role and qualification, timings, map and an appointment request reaching WhatsApp. Lines often added: Kannada pages, a second branch page.
SaaS startup in HSR Layout
Marketing site from ₹10,000 on a static stack or Next.js: product, pricing, blog and demo booking. Lines often added: CRM integration, a docs portal, industry landing pages.
School in Whitefield or Sarjapur Road
Business website from ₹10,000: admissions, curriculum, facilities, circulars and an enquiry form. Lines often added: online fee payment links, a parent login quoted as a portal from ₹60,000.
Restaurant group in Indiranagar
Business website from ₹10,000: menus as text, outlet pages, booking and ordering links. Lines often added: menu updates handled through a care plan from ₹8,000/mo.
Manufacturer in Peenya
Capability and catalogue site from ₹10,000; for hundreds of products or many buyer cities, an SEO website from ₹20,000. Lines often added: RFQ with drawing upload, a dealer portal.
D2C brand in Koramangala
Online store from ₹50,000: catalogue, UPI, card and COD checkout, GST invoices, shipping. Lines often added: subscriptions, billing software sync, a Hindi version.
Comparable budgets for other cities are on the pages for website development cost in Delhi and Mumbai; the starting prices are the same, but the businesses and their needs differ.
What are the yearly running costs of a website, including maintenance?
Building the site is a one-time cost; keeping it online is a small recurring one. These recurring costs are paid by you directly to each provider, in your name, and we list them in the quote:
- Domain renewal: yearly, to the registrar
- Hosting: monthly or yearly; static sites are cheapest to host, WordPress and stores need more
- Business email: per mailbox, to the email provider
- SSL certificate: often free with modern hosting
- Platform subscription: only for hosted platforms such as Shopify
- Paid plugins, themes or apps: yearly licences where used; we keep these to a minimum
- Payment provider fees: per transaction, for stores
Maintenance is the other recurring line. Every site we launch gets two months of maintenance free: bug fixes, small edits, tested updates, backups and a Search Console check. From the third month, optional care starts at ₹8,000/mo. Whether you need it depends on the site: a static consultancy site may need almost nothing, while a store or a WordPress site with weekly updates benefits from regular care. Our website maintenance charges guide explains what a fair plan includes, and website ka yearly kharcha covers the same ground in Hinglish.
How timeline and process affect what you pay
A clear process keeps cost predictable. Most budget overruns come from scope changing after the build starts or content arriving late, not from the work itself. Here is how our remote process controls both:
Call and quote (days 1–3)
We agree pages, features and content responsibilities, then send an itemised quote. Nothing is billed until you approve it in writing.
Design on staging (week 1)
The home page and one inner page go up on a private link. Changing direction here costs little; changing it after the full build costs much more.
Build and content (weeks 1–2)
Remaining pages are built and your content loaded. Late photos or copy are the most common reason projects stretch.
Launch and handover
Domain, SSL, Search Console and every login handed over, followed by two months of free maintenance.
Business websites usually go live in one to two weeks once content is ready, SEO websites in three to five weeks, stores in four to eight and portals in six to twelve. Payments are staged by UPI or bank transfer and tied to work you can see. New ideas during the build are welcome; they are quoted as separate lines before any work on them, so the original budget never quietly grows.
How do I compare website quotes from Bangalore developers?
Put every quote into the same table and compare line by line. A lower total that omits launch, testing or aftercare is not cheaper; it simply moves the cost to later.
Ask each provider, including us:
- Which pages and features are included, and which are excluded?
- Who designs, who codes, and can I speak to them?
- Are hosting setup, domain connection, SSL and Search Console included?
- Who loads the content, and is editing included?
- Which phones and browsers will you test on?
- What are the yearly running costs, and in whose name are the accounts?
- What happens after launch, and what does month three cost?
Then weigh the answers against what you actually need. A funded startup may rightly pay more for brand design; a clinic rarely needs it. If you are choosing between a freelancer and an agency as much as between prices, our freelancer vs agency guide and the page on hiring a freelance web developer in Bangalore cover contracts, milestones and vetting. Comparing like with like is the only way to judge whether a website development cost in Bangalore is fair for what you will actually receive.
The platform shifts cost between the build and the years after it. Choose for total cost over three years, not for the cheapest first invoice.
Static site
Lean build, the cheapest hosting and very little maintenance, because there is no database or plugin stack to update. Edits go through a developer, which suits sites that change occasionally.
WordPress
Similar build cost, but plugins, themes and core updates need regular attention, so care plans matter more. Worth it when staff publish often.
Shopify
Quicker store setup, then a monthly platform subscription plus any paid apps. Predictable, but the subscription runs for as long as the store does.
WooCommerce or custom
No platform subscription, but hosting, updates and security sit with you or your care plan. Custom builds cost more upfront and can save on apps later.
We recommend a platform in the quote and show both the build cost and the expected running costs for that choice, so the comparison is fair. If your team will publish weekly, WordPress usually earns its upkeep; if the site barely changes, static saves money every year. Detailed breakdowns are on our pages for WordPress website cost and Shopify store cost in India.
Website cost checklist: what a Bangalore quote should include
Use this checklist when you receive a quote, from us or anyone else. Each item should be clearly included, priced as an extra, or explained as not needed:
- A page list, with the number of unique layouts
- Design approach, and how many review rounds are included
- Who provides and loads content, text and photos
- Mobile testing on named devices
- Contact forms, WhatsApp button, maps and analytics
- Domain connection, SSL, hosting setup and business email
- Search Console, sitemap and basic structured data
- Redirects from your old site, if there is one
- Each integration, as its own line
- Each extra language, as its own line
- Yearly running costs and whose name each account is in
- What happens after launch, and its price
- Payment stages, linked to deliverables
A quote that covers all thirteen is easy to compare and hard to dispute. If any item is missing, ask before you approve; it is far cheaper to settle now than during the build. This one list explains most of the spread in website development cost in Bangalore: quotes that look cheap usually leave several of these items out, and quotes that look expensive often include things you may not need.
How much do Kannada or Hindi pages add to the cost?
An extra language is a separate line in the quote, priced by how many pages it covers and how the content will be managed. It is rarely as expensive as owners fear, but it is never free, because every page, button and message exists twice.
Our team writes English and Hindi, so Hindi drafting can be part of our work. For Kannada, and for Tamil, Telugu or Urdu, which many Bangalore customers also read, you or your translator supply or approve the copy; the translator's fee is yours, and our line covers the technical build: Unicode text, a Kannada web font such as Noto Sans Kannada or Hind Mysuru, a language switcher, separate URLs, hreflang tags, translated titles and descriptions, and testing on budget Android phones.
Two ways to keep this line small: translate only the pages that matter most to Kannada-speaking customers, such as the home page, services, timings and contact, rather than every blog post; and choose a setup where both language versions sit side by side in one editor, so later price or timing changes do not need a developer.
Whether to add Kannada at all depends on your customers. A neighbourhood clinic in Basavanagudi often benefits; a SaaS startup selling abroad usually does not. Census 2011 language data lists Kannada as the most common mother tongue in Bengaluru, but your own customer mix is the better guide.
Are mobile design, WhatsApp buttons and UPI payments extra?
Mobile-first design and a WhatsApp button are included in every build; full online payments are priced as a store. Here is how each common request affects cost:
- Mobile-first design: included. Every page is designed for phones first and tested on a budget Android phone and an iPhone.
- WhatsApp click-to-chat: included, with a pre-filled message naming the page the visitor came from.
- Click-to-call and maps: included.
- UPI payment link or QR for advances and fees: usually a small line, because it uses a payment page from your own provider rather than a full checkout.
- Full checkout with UPI, cards and COD: priced as an online store, from ₹50,000, because it brings cart, tax, shipping and order handling with it.
- Automated WhatsApp messages: a separate integration using the official WhatsApp Business Platform, whose provider charges apply; larger automation projects start at ₹40,000.
If someone quotes extra for “mobile responsive design”, ask why; in a city where most customers first see your business on a phone, mobile is the main version, not an add-on. The WhatsApp Business API cost guide explains the messaging charges that apply if you automate. A UPI link on a clinic or school site, by contrast, usually adds very little to the build.
Is SEO included in the website price?
Technical SEO foundations are included in every build; ongoing SEO is a separate monthly service. Nobody can guarantee rankings, so be wary of any quote that folds promised first-page positions into the price.
Included with every site we build:
- Unique titles, descriptions and headings on each page
- Clean URLs, a sitemap and Search Console set up in your name
- LocalBusiness or Organization structured data
- Speed work against Google's Core Web Vitals; Google Search Central suggests Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds
- Guidance on matching your Google Business Profile to the site
- Plain, quotable summaries that help AI answers describe your business correctly
Ongoing SEO, covering content, local SEO, technical fixes and reporting, starts at ₹10,000/mo and is optional. For businesses targeting many localities or services across Bangalore, an SEO website of 299+ pages from ₹20,000 is often a better investment than months of retainer, because it builds the pages once. The one-time vs monthly SEO guide explains the difference. If you only want to know where your current site stands before spending anything, start with a free website SEO audit.
Hidden costs and red flags in Bangalore website quotes
The most expensive website is the one you have to rebuild or rescue. Watch for these before approving any quote:
- Domain registered in the developer's name: recovering it later can cost time, money and your email
- Hosting bundled into a yearly package: often impossible to move without the developer's help
- Renewals billed through the developer: with no visibility of what the provider actually charges
- Paid themes or plugins on the developer's licence: updates stop when they leave
- “Free” or very cheap websites: paid back through long lock-in contracts
- No redirects on a redesign: the search traffic your old site earned is lost
- Change requests with no price list: every small edit becomes a negotiation
The cure is ownership from day one: every account opened in your name, code in a repository or backup you hold, and renewal dates on a sheet you keep. With us, all of that is standard, and the handover includes a recorded walkthrough so you never depend on one person. If you already face one of these problems, our guide for when a developer left the project midway explains how to recover. Any of these traps can quietly double the true website development cost in Bangalore over a few years, which is why ownership belongs in the quote, not in a later conversation.
Worked example: a quote for a physiotherapy clinic in Jayanagar (hypothetical)
This shows how a quote is built up; it is not a past client or a real result. Say a physiotherapy clinic in Jayanagar with two therapists wants a website to replace a single listing page, and to send appointment requests straight to the front desk.
After a short call, the itemised quote would read roughly like this:
- Base business website, from ₹10,000: home, about the clinic, six treatment pages, conditions treated, therapist roles and qualifications, pricing guidance, contact
- Included in the base: mobile-first design, appointment request form to email, sheet and WhatsApp, map, click-to-call, Search Console, LocalBusiness schema
- Separate line: Kannada versions of the home, treatments and contact pages, with text from the clinic's translator
- Separate line, optional: a short blog section for exercise guides the therapists will write
- Running costs, paid by the clinic: domain renewal, hosting and two business mailboxes, each in the clinic's name
- After launch: two months free, then optional care from ₹8,000/mo, or edits on request
The timeline would be about two weeks once photos and treatment descriptions arrive, with payments staged across design, build and launch. The clinic could later add online booking with deposits by UPI if demand grew. Nobody would visit the clinic; photos would be taken on a phone using our shooting guide.
Website development cost around Bangalore: Mysuru, Tumakuru and beyond
Our starting prices are the same in every part of Bangalore and across Karnataka, because the work is remote and nobody's travel time ends up in your quote. What changes is the business, not the location.
For the look and feel side of your budget, the website designer in Bangalore page explains what design work involves. For apps, software and AI projects in the city, see the Bengaluru services page, and full plan details are on our pricing page. Whichever town you are in, the itemised quote, staged payments and two free months work exactly as they do for a business in central Bangalore.
