Static website developer · Fast, secure, low-cost hosting

Static website developer for fast, hard-to-hack sites that cost little to host

A static website developer builds your site as ready-made pages that load instantly from a CDN, with no database or server code for attackers to target and hosting that often costs next to nothing. BtechWaleTech is three freelance developers in India who build static business sites of up to 100 pages from ₹10,000 in 1–2 weeks, and SEO sites of 299+ pages from ₹20,000. Everything is hosted on accounts in your name, and this very site is built the same way.

The short answer

What does a static website developer build, and how much does it cost?

A static website developer builds pages in advance as plain HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript, so they load fast from a CDN and have no database to hack. With BtechWaleTech a static website of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 (US$150) and launches in 1–2 weeks. Hosting is often free or very low cost on your own account; you mainly pay for the domain.

Why choose us

Static website developer vs WordPress site vs website builder

Three common ways to get a business site. Which is right depends on how often content changes and who changes it.

Static website developer vs WordPress site vs website builder
What matters WordPress site Drag-and-drop builder Static site from BtechWaleTech
Page speed Depends on theme and plugins Often heavy scripts Pre-built pages from a CDN, fast by default
Security upkeep Core, theme and plugin updates Handled by the platform No database or plugins to patch
Hosting cost Paid PHP hosting Monthly platform subscription Free tiers or very low cost, your account
Editing content Easy admin panel Easy visual editor Simple CMS add-on, Markdown, or ask us
Logins, carts, bookings Plugins available Built-in for some plans Needs add-ons or a dynamic build
Code ownership Yes, if hosting is yours Locked to the platform Full repository in your name
Moving elsewhere later Possible, sometimes messy Hard to export fully Copy the files to any host

If you publish several posts a day with many editors, or need member logins and a shopping cart, a dynamic site or WordPress will serve you better than a purely static one.

Pricing

What a static website developer charges, and what hosting costs

A static website with us starts at ₹10,000 for up to 100 pages and usually goes live in 1–2 weeks. A search-led static site with 700+ generated pages starts at ₹20,000. Quotes move with the number of unique page layouts, the content we write or restructure, and add-ons such as a content editor, multilingual pages or a booking widget. The ongoing bill is where static sites shine: many sites run on free hosting tiers, and the main recurring cost is your domain renewal. Every quote is itemised and arrives in about two working days, and nothing is billed until you approve it in writing.

What is a static website, and what does a static website developer do?

A static website is a set of pages built in advance and stored as ready files. When someone visits, the server hands over the file; nothing is looked up in a database or assembled on the fly. Every visitor gets the same page quickly.

A static website developer designs those pages, writes the HTML, CSS and any JavaScript, and usually uses a static site generator to produce hundreds of pages from templates and content files. The developer then connects the site to a CDN host, sets up the domain and SSL, and adds the few interactive pieces a business needs, such as a contact form.

“Static” describes how pages are delivered, not how they look. A static site can have animations, galleries, maps, videos, a blog, search and enquiry forms. What it does not have by itself is anything personal to each visitor, such as logins, carts or dashboards.

  • Pages generated once at build time, not on every visit
  • Served from a content delivery network close to the visitor
  • No server-side code or database exposed to the internet
  • Interactive features added through small, separate services

Static or dynamic website: which does your business need?

Choose static when your content is the same for every visitor and changes a few times a week or less. Choose dynamic when visitors log in, buy, book with live availability, or see content tailored to them.

Most small business sites are static at heart. A clinic’s services, a school’s admissions page, a manufacturer’s product catalogue, a consultant’s profile and a hotel’s room descriptions change occasionally, not every minute. Building them on a database-driven platform adds cost, slowness and security work with no gain for the visitor.

There is a middle path. A static site can call small services for the interactive parts: a form handler for enquiries, an embedded booking tool, a payment link. That covers most needs without turning the whole site dynamic. When the interactive part becomes the main product, it is time for a dynamic build or a web app.

Static fits

Service businesses, clinics, schools, manufacturers, consultants, portfolios, events, landing pages and content sites.

Dynamic fits

Online stores with carts (from ₹50,000), portals with logins, marketplaces, and apps with dashboards (from ₹60,000).

Why a static website developer can make your site so fast

Static pages are fast because the slow work happens once, at build time, instead of on every visit. The visitor’s phone receives a finished file from a nearby CDN server, often in a fraction of the time a database-driven page takes.

Speed is measured by Google’s Core Web Vitals: how quickly the main content appears (LCP), how quickly the page responds to a tap (INP), and whether things jump around while loading (CLS). Static sites start with an advantage on all three, but a careless static website developer can still ruin them with huge images, heavy fonts or piles of third-party scripts.

Our habits: images resized and served in modern formats such as WebP or AVIF, fonts limited to what the design needs, JavaScript sent only to the parts of the page that use it (a strength of Astro), and third-party widgets loaded after the main content. We test on a budget Android phone over mobile data, not only on a fast laptop.

Is a static website more secure than WordPress?

Generally yes, because there is far less to attack. A static site has no login page on the public server, no database to inject into, and no plugins waiting for updates. The files on the CDN are read-only to visitors.

Most small business hacks we hear about start with an outdated plugin or theme, a weak admin password, or cheap shared hosting. A static site removes those routes. What remains to protect is smaller: your domain registrar login, your hosting account, your code repository and any form or CMS service. We turn on two-factor authentication for each and keep them in your name.

Static is not magic. A site that embeds unsafe third-party scripts can still leak data, and forms still need spam protection. But the day-to-day security chores of a typical WordPress site largely disappear.

  • No public admin panel or database
  • HTTPS by default on modern static hosts
  • Two-factor authentication on registrar, host and repository
  • Spam protection on forms
  • Security headers set at the CDN

Where does a static website developer host your site, and what does it cost?

Static sites can be hosted almost anywhere that serves files. The popular choices are Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel and GitHub Pages, each with free tiers that cover many small business sites, or AWS S3 with CloudFront for teams already on AWS.

The recurring costs are usually the domain renewal and, if you choose, a business email service. Hosting itself is often free at small business traffic levels, and when it is not, it tends to cost much less than managed WordPress hosting. Check each provider’s current plan limits, because they change from time to time.

We open the hosting account under your email and connect it to a code repository you own. Each time content changes, the host rebuilds and republishes the site automatically. If you ever want to move host, the site is just a folder of files, so the move takes hours, not weeks.

If you already have hosting and domains to sort out, see cloud hosting setup.

How much does a static website developer cost in India?

Quotes from static website developers in India vary widely, because a “five-page site” can mean a template with your logo or a fully designed, written and optimised site. Compare scope, not totals. With us a static site of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and takes 1–2 weeks; a static SEO site of 700+ generated pages starts at ₹20,000 and takes 3–5 weeks.

What raises a quote: more unique page designs, content writing or heavy editing, multiple languages, a CMS so your staff can edit, and extras such as a booking widget or product filter. What does not raise it much: the number of similar pages generated from one template, since generation is the point of a static site generator.

Remember the long-term bill. A static site’s running cost is mainly the domain; there is no premium hosting plan and no yearly plugin licences. Over three to five years that difference often matters more than the build price.

For wider comparisons see website making cost in India and low-cost website developer.

Can you edit a static website yourself?

Yes, in one of three ways, and the right one depends on how often you change content.

If you change things a few times a year, message us; small edits are free for two months after launch and quick after that. If you update weekly, we add a lightweight content editor, such as Decap CMS or a hosted headless CMS, where you log in, change text or photos in a form, and the site rebuilds itself in a minute or two. If your team is technical, you can edit Markdown files directly in the repository.

What you give up compared with WordPress is the huge plugin catalogue. For most business sites that is a benefit, not a loss, because every plugin is another thing to update and secure.

Contact forms, WhatsApp, maps and bookings on a static site

Static sites handle the common business features through small add-ons. The page stays static; only the interactive part talks to a service.

Enquiry forms post to a form service or a small serverless function that emails you and saves the lead to a Google Sheet. A WhatsApp button opens a chat with your number and a pre-filled message. Google Maps is embedded for directions. Appointment booking can use an embedded scheduler. Payments can use a UPI QR code or a payment link from your provider. Search across the site can run entirely in the browser for sites up to a few hundred pages.

When these add-ons start to multiply, for example live stock, customer accounts, order history, it is a sign the project has become a web app. We will say so and quote it properly rather than stretching a static site past its purpose.

  • Enquiry forms with spam protection, sent to email and a sheet
  • WhatsApp click-to-chat with a pre-filled message
  • Embedded maps and directions
  • Embedded booking calendars
  • UPI QR codes or payment links
  • In-browser site search

Which tools does a static website developer use?

For most business sites we use Astro, which produces plain HTML by default and adds JavaScript only where a component needs it. This site you are reading runs on Astro. For very small sites, hand-written HTML and CSS is perfectly good. Eleventy, Hugo and Jekyll are other well-known static site generators that suit content-heavy sites.

Frameworks such as Next.js can also export static pages, which helps when a site may later grow app-like features. The choice matters less than the result: small pages, clean HTML, and a build that someone else can run in future. We document the build steps in the repository so a different developer can take over without calling us.

SEO on a static site: structure, schema and large page sets

Static sites suit SEO well. Pages are real HTML that search engines read without running scripts, they load fast, and the URL structure is exactly what the developer designs.

A static website developer should handle the technical basics as part of the build: one clear H1 per page, descriptive titles and meta descriptions, clean URLs, an XML sitemap, canonical tags, structured data (schema) for your business type, image alt text, internal links and Google Search Console setup. None of that needs a plugin.

Static generation also makes large, useful page sets practical. A service business covering many towns, or a manufacturer with hundreds of products, can keep data in a spreadsheet and generate a page for each entry, each with its own content. That is the basis of our SEO website plan from ₹20,000. Nobody can guarantee rankings, but a fast, well-structured site gives your content a fair chance.

Static websites for Indian businesses: phones, data and languages

Most of your visitors in India will open the site on an Android phone, many on budget models and patchy networks. Static pages help directly here: less to download, nothing waiting on a slow server, and pages that still open on a weak signal in a hill town or a crowded market.

Language support is straightforward too. We can publish Hindi and English versions, or a regional language such as Tamil, Kannada, Marathi or Malayalam, as separate static pages with proper language tags so Google shows the right version. Fonts are chosen to render Indian scripts cleanly without heavy downloads.

For small sellers, a UPI QR code or payment link on a static page is often enough before a full online store is worth it. When orders grow, the same content can move into a store build.

Worked example: a hypothetical homestay moves to a static site

This is an illustrative scenario, not a real client. Imagine a family homestay in a hill district running an old WordPress site on shared hosting. The site takes several seconds to open on mobile data, was defaced once, and the hosting renewal keeps rising.

A static website developer rebuilds it as around fifteen static pages: rooms, photos, directions, nearby places, house rules, a Hindi and English version, and an enquiry form that sends details to email and WhatsApp. Photos are resized for phones. Old URLs are redirected so existing Google listings keep working. Hosting moves to a free CDN tier under the owner’s email.

The build falls within the static plan from ₹10,000. The owner’s ongoing cost drops mainly to the domain renewal, the site opens quickly on a phone at the property itself, and there is no plugin left to update or exploit.

How to choose a static website developer: checks and red flags

Open their live sites on your phone over mobile data, and run one through Google’s PageSpeed Insights. A static website developer whose own work is slow has missed the main point of static.

Then ask about ownership and editing. Where will the site be hosted and under whose account? Will you get the repository? How will you update text? Can the site be moved to another host? Clear, specific answers are a good sign.

  • Live sites that load quickly on a budget phone
  • Hosting, domain and repository opened in your name
  • A plan for how you will edit content
  • Forms tested with spam protection
  • Itemised quote listing pages and add-ons
  • Red flag: a template resold as “custom” with your logo swapped in
  • Red flag: the site hosted on the developer’s personal account

If you are weighing a hand-built site against a template, custom website developer covers that choice.

Static website banwana hai? Aasaan shabdon mein

Static website ka matlab hai ki pages pehle se bane hote hain, isliye site phone par jaldi khulti hai, hack hona mushkil hota hai aur hosting ka kharcha bahut kam ya zero ho sakta hai. Dukaan, clinic, school, consultant ya hotel jaisi businesses ke liye yeh aksar sabse samajhdaar choice hai.

Hamare saath 100 pages tak ki static website ₹10,000 se shuru hoti hai aur 1–2 hafte mein live ho jaati hai. Domain, hosting aur code aapke naam par rehte hain, launch ke baad 2 mahine free maintenance milta hai, aur likhit manzoori ke bina koi payment nahi hota.

Static website developer for businesses across India

We build static sites remotely for businesses in every state, and the fit is strongest where visitors arrive on phones and content changes rarely. Guesthouses in Pondicherry, yoga schools in Rishikesh, hotels in Shimla and coffee homestays in Chikkamagaluru need fast pages that open on hill and coastal networks.

Pilgrim services in Tirupati, restaurants and institutions in Udupi, industrial suppliers in Bharuch and Durg, and professionals in Delhi all want the same thing from different angles: a site that loads fast, rarely breaks and costs little to keep online.

How it works

How we build a static website, from brief to live

  1. Send your page list

Share on WhatsApp what pages you need, any site you like and your logo or photos. A rough list is enough; we fill gaps with questions.

  2. Receive an itemised quote

Within about two working days you get the price per item, the timeline and the hosting plan. Nothing is billed before your written approval.

  3. Open accounts in your name

Domain, hosting and repository are created under your email, or you add us as users on accounts you already have.

  4. Review on a preview link

Every change appears on a private preview URL you can open on your phone. Comments on WhatsApp come back as updated previews.

  5. Go live on the CDN

We connect the domain, enable HTTPS, submit the sitemap to Google Search Console and hand over repository access and editing instructions.

  6. Two months of free changes

Text edits, new pages and fixes are free for two months after launch; after that, maintenance continues from ₹8,000/mo only if you want it.

Questions

Static website developer: questions people ask

What is a static website?

A static website is made of pages built in advance and stored as ready files, so every visitor receives the same page directly from a server or CDN without any database lookup. That makes it fast, secure and cheap to host. It can still include forms, galleries, maps, videos and a blog.

How much does a static website cost in India?

Quotes vary widely with design, content and page count. With BtechWaleTech a static website of up to 100 pages starts at ₹10,000 and launches in 1–2 weeks, and a static SEO site with 700+ generated pages starts at ₹20,000. Hosting is often free or very low cost; the main recurring cost is the domain.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic website?

A static website serves pre-built pages that are the same for everyone. A dynamic website builds each page when requested, usually from a database, so it can show logins, carts and personalised content. Static is faster, safer and cheaper to host; dynamic is needed when visitors have accounts or buy through a cart.

Is a static website good for SEO?

Yes. Static pages are plain HTML that search engines read easily, they load fast, which helps Core Web Vitals, and the developer controls every URL, title and schema tag. Rankings depend on content and competition too, and nobody can guarantee positions, but a static site removes many technical obstacles.

Can I update a static website myself?

Yes. For occasional changes you can message your developer. For regular updates, a lightweight content editor can be added so you change text and photos in a simple form and the site rebuilds itself. Technical teams can also edit Markdown files directly in the code repository.

Can a static website have a contact form?

Yes. The form sends entries to a form service or a small serverless function, which emails you and can save each lead to a Google Sheet. Spam protection is added so you do not receive junk. The rest of the page stays static, so speed and security are not affected.

Where is a static website hosted?

On any service that serves files, most often Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages or AWS S3 with CloudFront. Many small business sites fit within free tiers. We open the hosting account in your name, so you control it and can move host whenever you like.

Is a static website more secure than WordPress?

Usually, yes. A static site has no public login page, database or plugins, which are the most common ways small WordPress sites get hacked. What remains to protect is your domain, hosting and repository accounts, which we secure with two-factor authentication and keep in your name.

How long does it take to build a static website?

A static site of up to 100 pages usually takes 1–2 weeks from approved quote to launch, provided your content and photos are ready. Larger static SEO sites with 700+ generated pages take 3–5 weeks. Late content is the most common cause of delay.

Can a static website take payments?

For simple needs, yes, through a UPI QR code or a payment link from your provider placed on the page. For a full catalogue with cart, stock and order tracking, an online store is the better choice, starting from ₹50,000.

Which technology do you use for static websites?

Mostly Astro, which outputs plain HTML and adds JavaScript only where needed, and hand-written HTML and CSS for very small sites. Other good static site generators include Eleventy, Hugo and Jekyll. The build steps are documented so another developer can take over later.

Can you convert my WordPress or Wix site to a static site?

Yes. We rebuild the pages as static files, keep your existing URLs or add redirects so search traffic is preserved, and move hosting to an account in your name. A rebuild of up to 100 pages falls within the static plan from ₹10,000.

Will a static website work well on cheap phones?

It should work better than most alternatives. Static pages are light, need no waiting on a slow server and open even on weak mobile signals. We compress images, limit fonts and scripts, and test on a budget Android phone over mobile data before launch.

Do static websites need maintenance?

Much less than database-driven sites, since there are no plugins or server software to patch. You still need domain renewals, occasional content updates and dependency updates when the site is rebuilt. Every site gets two months of free maintenance, then optional care from ₹8,000/mo.

Can a static website have a blog?

Yes. Posts are written in a simple editor or Markdown and published as static pages, so the blog stays fast as it grows to hundreds of articles. Categories, tags, RSS and in-browser search can all be generated at build time.

Can a static website be in Hindi or other Indian languages?

Yes. We publish separate language versions such as Hindi and English, or a regional language like Tamil or Marathi, with proper language tags so search engines show the right version. Fonts are chosen to display Indian scripts clearly without slowing the page.

Who owns the static website after it is built?

You do. The domain, hosting account and code repository are in your name from the start. At handover you receive repository access, editing instructions and a list of renewal dates. Because the site is just files, you can move it to another host or developer at any time.

Static website banwane mein kitna kharcha aata hai?

Hamare saath 100 pages tak ki static website ₹10,000 se shuru hoti hai aur 1–2 hafte mein ban jaati hai. Hosting aksar free ya bahut sasti hoti hai, mukhya kharcha domain ka hota hai. Quote lagbhag do working days mein milta hai.

How do I pay for a static website project?

Nothing is billed until you approve the itemised quote in writing. Clients in India pay by UPI or bank transfer; international clients pay by Wise, bank wire or PayPal. The payment schedule is stated in the approved quote, and our terms and refund policy pages cover the rest.

Next step

Want a fast static website you fully own?

Send your page list on WhatsApp. In about two working days you get an itemised quote, static sites from ₹10,000 for up to 100 pages, hosted on accounts in your name and live in 1–2 weeks.
