Website se business kaise badhaye: pehla sawaal kya hona chahiye?
Pehla sawaal yeh nahi ki “aur traffic kaise laayein”, balki yeh ki jo log already aa rahe hain woh enquiry kyun nahi kar rahe. Website se business kaise badhaye, iska jawab aksar aapki maujooda website ke andar hi chhupa hota hai.
Sochiye aapki dukaan mein roz 50 log aate hain, ghoomte hain aur bina kuch pooche chale jaate hain. Aap pehle aur log bulane ke liye pamphlet nahi chhapwayenge; pehle dekhenge ki counter kahan hai, rate list dikh rahi hai ya nahi, staff baat kar raha hai ya nahi. Website ke saath bhi yahi hai. Google Search Console mein dekhiye kitne log aapki site par aa rahe hain, aur phir ginti kijiye kitne WhatsApp ya call aaye. Agar 500 visit par 2 enquiry hai, toh problem traffic nahi, website ka dhaancha hai.
Isliye hum kaam teen hisson mein baant-te hain: leaks band karna (buttons, speed, trust), sahi traffic laana (service pages, local SEO), aur naapna (tracking). Is order mein kaam karne ka fayda yeh hai ki jo bhi naya traffic aayega, woh bekaar nahi jaayega. Ulta order, yaani pehle SEO ya ads par paisa, phir fixes, aksar paisa barbaad karta hai.
- Search Console mein pichhle 3 mahine ke clicks dekhiye.
- Utne hi samay ki WhatsApp aur call enquiries gin-iye, chahe register mein hi likhi hon.
- Mobile par apni site kholkar dekhiye: button kitni der mein dikhta hai?
- Teen aise search likhiye jo customer aapke liye type karte hain, aur dekhiye aap kahan aate hain.
Agar site Google par dikh hi nahi rahi, toh pehle website Google par kyun nahi dikh rahi wali checklist dekhiye; woh alag problem hai.
WhatsApp aur call button har page par, mobile screen ke neeche kone mein hamesha dikhne chahiye, aur ek tap mein chat ya call khulni chahiye. India mein zyada tar customer form bharne se pehle WhatsApp par “rate kya hai?” poochna pasand karte hain.
Sirf button laga dena kaafi nahi. Teen cheezein farq laati hain. Pehli, pre-filled message: button dabate hi chat mein “Namaste, mujhe AC servicing ke baare mein jaankari chahiye” jaisa text aa jaaye, taaki customer ko sochna na pade aur aapko pata chale woh kis page se aaya. Meta ke WhatsApp Business documentation ke mutabik QR code aur short link ke pre-filled message 140 characters tak ho sakte hain, isliye message chhota rakhiye. Doosri, har service page ka alag message, taaki aapka staff turant samjhe customer ko kya chahiye. Teesri, call button ka number wahi ho jo sach mein uthaya jaata hai; band number ya IVR ka lamba menu enquiry maar deta hai.
Isse customer kisi aur ko message nahi karta. Yeh WhatsApp Business ke auto-reply se ho jaata hai.
Form kitna lamba ho?
Naam, phone aur ek dropdown (kaunsi service) kaafi hai. Har extra field kuch log ko rok deta hai; baaki baat phone par ho sakti hai.
Service pages jo Google search se match karein: sabse bada traffic source
A service page is a page built around one thing a customer searches for, such as “kitchen chimney repair in Indore” or “GST registration consultant near me”. If your whole business sits on one “Services” page with six bullet points, Google has nothing specific to rank, and a visitor has nothing specific to act on.
Start with a list of every service you sell and every area you actually cover. Then check what people type, using Google autocomplete, the “People also ask” box and the Queries report in Search Console. Each real combination with demand deserves its own page: what the service includes, starting price or price factors, how long it takes, what the customer must prepare, a few honest FAQs and a WhatsApp button with a message that names that service.
Do not create thin copies where only the city name changes. Google’s spam policies call out doorway pages, and visitors can tell. A good area page mentions how you serve that locality, travel time, which services you actually offer there and a map or landmark reference. If you serve five areas genuinely, five good pages beat fifty template ones.
For businesses with many services across many cities, a structured build helps: our SEO website plan starts at ₹20,000 and is designed for 299+ pages that share a clean template but carry unique content. For a handful of pages, adding them to your current site costs far less.
Local SEO se nazdeeki customer kaise laayein?
Local SEO ka matlab hai jab koi “near me” ya apne mohalle ke naam ke saath search kare, toh Google Maps aur search results mein aapka business dikhe. Iska sabse bada hissa Google Business Profile hai, jo Google ke apne shabdon mein banana aur list karna free hai.
Profile mein sahi primary category chuniye, kyunki yahi tay karti hai ki aap kin searches mein aayenge. Asli photos daaliye: dukaan ka bahar, andar, team aur kaam. Opening hours sahi rakhiye, tyohaar ke din update kijiye. Har khush customer se review maangiye, par review ke badle discount ya gift mat dijiye; aise reviews Google ke niyamon ke khilaaf maane jaate hain aur profile par action ho sakta hai.
Website aur profile ek doosre ko support karein. Website par wahi naam, address aur phone (NAP) likhiye jo profile par hai, bilkul same spelling mein. Contact page par Google Map embed kijiye. Aur website par LocalBusiness structured data lagaiye; Google ke Search Central documentation ke mutabik isme naam aur address zaroori hain, aur opening hours, phone aur geo coordinates recommended hain.
Justdial, IndiaMART ya industry directories par bhi yahi NAP rakhiye. Alag-alag number ya purana address Google ko confuse karta hai. Poora step-by-step Google Map par dukaan dalne ka tarika alag page par hai, aur agar profile suspend ho gaya hai toh suspended profile wapas laane ki guide dekhiye.
Does website speed really affect leads, and how fast is fast enough?
Yes. A visitor who waits on a blank screen often goes back and taps the next result, which is usually your competitor. Google’s Core Web Vitals give clear targets: Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint of 200 milliseconds or less, and Cumulative Layout Shift of 0.1 or less, measured at the 75th percentile of page loads, according to web.dev.
On Indian business sites, the same few problems cause most slowness. Photos uploaded straight from a phone at several megabytes each. A heavy page-builder theme loading scripts for features you never use. Ten plugins for sliders, popups and counters. Chat widgets and trackers that each add their own code. And cheap shared hosting located far from your visitors.
The fixes are mostly boring and cheap: resize and convert images to WebP, remove unused plugins, lazy-load anything below the first screen, add caching and a CDN, and host closer to India. On WordPress sites this alone often turns a sluggish page into a quick one. Where the theme itself is the problem, replacing it with a lighter build is sometimes cheaper than fighting it.
Test on a real budget Android phone over mobile data, not just on office Wi-Fi. PageSpeed Insights shows field data from real Chrome users when your site has enough traffic, and lab data otherwise. If you want someone to handle it end to end, see our website speed optimisation page.
Which trust signals make a visitor pick up the phone?
Visitors enquire when the site answers the silent question “are these people real and will they do a proper job?”. Trust signals are the specific details that answer it: real photos, a physical address or clear service area, registration numbers, a visible process and honest FAQs.
Stock photos of smiling models in suits do the opposite. A photo of your actual workshop, your delivery van or your team at a site tells more. Show your GST number or trade registration if you have one; show the owner’s name and a short line about how long they have done this work (only if true). Put a “How it works” strip with three or four steps so the customer knows what happens after they message.
Reviews help, but only genuine ones. Embed your Google reviews or quote customers with their permission. Never write reviews yourself or buy them; visitors spot them, platforms remove them, and one exposed fake undoes the trust that fifty real ones built.
Price transparency is a big trust lever in India. You do not need a full rate card, but “starting from” figures or a clear list of what changes the price stops people from assuming you are expensive. Add a short FAQ block on each service page covering payment methods (UPI, bank transfer), warranty terms you actually offer, and service timings.
- Real photos of your place, people and work
- Address or service area, map, phone and hours
- GST or registration details where applicable
- Three- or four-step process strip
- Earned reviews, embedded or quoted with consent
- Starting prices or clear price factors
Kaise pata karein kaunsa tarika kaam kar raha hai? Enquiry tracking
Bina tracking ke website se business kaise badhaye, yeh andaaze ka khel ban jaata hai. Tracking ka matlab hai har WhatsApp tap, call tap aur form submit ko ginna, aur yeh jaanna ki woh kis page aur kis search se aaya.
Google Analytics 4 mein aap kisi bhi event ko “key event” mark kar sakte hain; Google Analytics Help ke mutabik key event woh action hai jo aapke business ki safalta ke liye khaas maayne rakhta hai. Hum teen key events set karte hain: whatsapp_click, call_click aur form_submit. Isse har mahine report mein dikhta hai ki kaunsa page sabse zyada enquiry la raha hai aur kaunsa sirf traffic.
Search Console doosra hissa hai. Yeh batata hai log kin searches se aa rahe hain, kaunse page ki ranking badh rahi hai aur kaunse page Google index hi nahi kar raha. Dono ko milaakar aap faisla le sakte hain: jis service page par traffic hai par enquiry nahi, uska content ya button sudhaariye; jis search par aap page 2 par hain, uske liye page mazboot kijiye.
Ek cheez aur: phone par aayi enquiry se poochiye “aapne humein kahan dekha?” aur ek simple sheet mein likhiye. GA4 har cheez nahi pakad sakta, jaise kisi ne number note karke baad mein call kiya. Setup ka poora tareeka GA4 setup service aur Google Tag Manager setup pages par hai.
What content turns a reader into an enquiry?
Content that answers the exact doubts a buyer has just before they contact someone: price range, time taken, what is included, what could go wrong and why you rather than the next result. Generic blog posts about “importance of X” rarely produce leads.
Collect the questions your staff answer on the phone every week. Those are your page sections and FAQs. A pest-control business might hear “is the spray safe for kids?”, “do we need to leave the house?”, “how many visits?”. A CA practice might hear “what documents do I need for GST registration?”. Answering these plainly on the relevant service page does two jobs: it ranks for those questions and it removes the hesitation that stops people from messaging.
Write in the language your customers search in. Many Indian buyers type in Hinglish or Hindi, especially on mobile. A Hindi or Hinglish version of your top service pages can reach searches that your English page never will. See our Hindi SEO page if a big part of your market prefers Hindi.
Keep each page focused and scannable: a direct answer at the top, short paragraphs, a table where comparison helps, and the WhatsApp button repeated after the main sections. Long walls of text push people away on a phone screen.
Will AI search and Google AI Overviews send enquiries to a small business site?
They can, if your pages give clear, quotable answers. AI Overviews, ChatGPT search and similar tools pull short passages that directly answer a question, so pages with a one-line definition, a clear price range, numbered steps and named facts are easier for them to cite.
This does not need a separate “AI strategy”. It is the same discipline as good local SEO, just stricter. Put a two- or three-sentence direct answer at the top of each service page. Use question headings that match how people ask. Keep facts consistent everywhere: the same business name, address, services and starting prices on your website, Google Business Profile and directories. Add structured data so machines can read who you are and what you offer.
Be realistic, though. For many local searches, people still tap the map pack and call. AI answers tend to help more for research-type questions (“what does a home loan DSA charge?”) than for “plumber near me”. Treat AI visibility as a bonus from well-written pages, not a reason to rewrite everything. If you want to go further, our AI Overview optimisation page explains what can and cannot be influenced.
Nobody can guarantee a mention in an AI answer, just as nobody can guarantee a Google ranking. What you control is being the clearest, most accurate source for your own services.
How fast should you reply to website enquiries, and can it be automated?
Reply as fast as you realistically can, ideally within minutes during working hours. Many buyers message three or four businesses at once and go with whoever answers clearly first. A website that produces leads but a team that replies the next evening wastes most of the effort.
Simple automation helps without replacing people. An instant WhatsApp auto-reply that thanks the customer and asks one qualifying question (“which area are you in?”). Each lead saved automatically to a Google Sheet or CRM with the page it came from. A reminder to your staff if a lead has not been answered in 30 minutes. A follow-up message two days later for people who went quiet.
These are the kinds of workflows our WhatsApp automation builds cover, from ₹40,000. For higher volumes, a chatbot can answer routine questions like timings and service areas and pass serious enquiries to a person; the WhatsApp chatbot price page explains what drives the cost.
Keep the human part human. Customers can tell a scripted reply from a real one. Automation should remove delay and forgetting, not the conversation.
Should you fix the existing website or build a new one?
Fix it if the site loads on mobile, you can edit it, and its structure roughly matches your services. Rebuild it if it is on a platform you cannot control, breaks on phones, is too slow even after basic fixes, or no longer reflects what you sell.
Fixing is usually faster and cheaper. Adding buttons, trust sections, a few service pages, speed work and tracking to a decent WordPress or custom site typically takes one to two weeks. You keep your existing rankings and URLs, which matters if Google already sends you some traffic.
Rebuilding makes sense when every fix fights the old setup: a theme that cannot be made fast, a builder platform that blocks basic SEO controls, or a site whose login nobody has anymore. If you rebuild, protect what you already have. Map every old URL to its new equivalent with 301 redirects, keep page titles that rank, and submit the new sitemap in Search Console. Sites that skip this often lose traffic for months.
We tell you which way to go in the audit and show the reasoning, including when a rebuild is not worth it yet. The website redesign cost page covers the rebuild side in detail.
Who should own the domain, hosting and Google accounts?
You should, always. The domain, hosting, website code, Google Business Profile, Analytics and Search Console must be in the business owner’s name and email, with developers added as users. If the person who set them up disappears, you should lose nothing.
A common story in small businesses: a nephew or a local designer registered the domain on their own email years ago, and now nobody can renew it or change DNS. Or the Google Business Profile belongs to an old employee. Before any growth work, we help you check who holds each account and move ownership to you where possible.
When we work on your site, we ask for user access, not passwords to your personal Gmail. For Google Analytics and Search Console that means adding us as users; for the Business Profile, as a manager. At the end of the project you get every login, the source files where we wrote custom code, and a short note on what was changed. You can remove our access any time.
- Domain registrar account in your name and email
- Hosting account in your name, with billing you control
- Google Business Profile: you as owner
- GA4 and Search Console: you as owner or administrator
- WhatsApp Business number on a SIM you hold
Red flags when hiring someone to grow your website
Walk away from anyone who promises page-one or number-one rankings by a date. Google does not sell rankings and nobody outside it controls them. Honest people talk about the work they will do and how progress will be measured.
Other warning signs: they want your Gmail password instead of user access; they will only report “impressions” and never enquiries; they offer thousands of backlinks for a small monthly amount; they plan to publish hundreds of copied city pages; they keep the domain or hosting in their own name “for convenience”; they cannot explain in plain words what they changed last month.
Also be careful with anyone who wants you to lock into long contracts before showing any work, or who charges for “SEO” without touching your service pages, Business Profile or speed. And be wary of vague bundles where you cannot tell which part costs what.
With us, the scope and cost are written into an itemised quote before anything is billed, and each month’s work is listed in plain language. For contract questions, see our terms; for how monthly SEO work is structured, see SEO karwana hai.
Website se business badhane mein kitna time lagta hai?
Fixes ka asar jaldi dikhta hai, SEO ka dheere. WhatsApp button, speed aur trust sections lagane ke baad usi traffic se zyada enquiry kuch hafton mein dikh sakti hai. Naye service pages aur local SEO ka asar aam taur par kuch mahino mein aata hai, aur competition par depend karta hai.
Ek realistic roadmap aisa dikhta hai. Pehle hafte audit aur tracking lagti hai, taaki “pehle” ka data record ho. Doosre hafte buttons, forms, trust aur speed ke fixes jaate hain. Teesre se chhathe hafte tak sabse zaroori service aur area pages likhe aur publish kiye jaate hain, Google Business Profile theek hota hai. Uske baad har mahine data dekhkar naye pages aur sudhaar.
Kuch cheezein aapke haath mein hain aur time bachati hain: content ke liye jaankari jaldi dena, asli photos bhejna, aur customers se review maangna. Kuch cheezein kisi ke haath mein nahi: Google kab page index karega aur competitor kya karega. Isliye koi bhi fixed date par ranking ka vaada kare toh sambhal jaiye. Aur detail ke liye SEO mein kitna time lagta hai padhiye.
Worked example: how a small service business could turn its site around
This is a hypothetical scenario to show the method, not a real client. Say an AC repair and installation business in Lucknow has a five-page website made three years ago. Search Console shows a few hundred visits a month, mostly for its own name. The owner gets maybe two enquiries a month from the site and assumes “websites don’t work for us”.
The audit finds the usual pattern. The phone number sits only in the footer. There is one “Services” page listing repair, gas refill, installation and AMC in bullets. Images are phone photos of several megabytes each, so the home page takes a long time to appear on mobile data. The Google Business Profile uses a different phone number and has no photos.
The plan: a sticky WhatsApp button with service-specific messages and tap-to-call; separate pages for AC repair, gas refilling, installation and AMC plans, each with price factors, visit timings and FAQs; area pages only for the localities the technicians genuinely cover; compressed images and a lighter theme; matching NAP on the profile with fresh photos and a review-request message for happy customers; GA4 key events for every tap.
Cost in this scenario would start from the ₹10,000 fix plan, with monthly SEO from ₹10,000/mo if the owner wants ongoing pages. What would change is not guaranteed, but for the first time the owner could see which page and which search each lead came from, and decide the next step on data.
Website se business kaise badhaye: 20-point checklist
Use this list to check your own site before hiring anyone. Every “no” is a place where enquiries leak.
- WhatsApp button visible on every page on mobile, with a pre-filled message
- Tap-to-call number that is actually answered
- Short enquiry form (three fields) that reaches you within a minute
- A separate page for each main service
- Area pages only for places you genuinely serve
- Starting prices or clear price factors on service pages
- Real photos of your work, team and premises
- Address or service area, hours and map on the contact page
- Same name, address and phone on site, Google profile and directories
- Google Business Profile with correct category, photos and recent reviews
- LocalBusiness structured data on the site
- Home page loads quickly on a budget phone over mobile data
- Images compressed and served in modern formats
- No broken links or error pages in Search Console
- GA4 key events for WhatsApp, call and form
- Search Console verified and sitemap submitted
- FAQs answering the questions your staff hear every week
- Hindi or Hinglish pages if your customers search that way
- Auto-reply for enquiries after business hours
- Domain, hosting and Google accounts in your own name
If more than five items are “no”, start with the fix plan from ₹10,000. Our website not generating leads page goes deeper into diagnosis.
